Living under the roof of the most powerful and most influential family in Bulgaria, I feel like a princess, the prettiest girl in the whole Bulgaria.

But because of that, I've meet Dimitri. The most handsome man I've seen in my entire life.

I've meet his family. The hospitality and kindness they showed me is incredibly good.

"Magpakasal na kayong dalawa", his mother commented when I visit their house one day.

"Yes, mama. I'll definitely ask Veronika to marry me", sabay ngiti ni Dimitri sa akin.

So now, I've invited him to our house.

And I'm kind of annoyed how my brother reacts to it. They seem don't like Dimitri. Especially Nathaniel. He mock and insulted Dimitri in the face.

"You can introduce yourself without extending your dirty arms with black drawings".

See that attitude of him? How heartless and insane he is.

And Cecilion too. He don't like Dimitri. I know. From the words he said to me from the library, he's not convince that me and Dimitri are in love with each other.

How would they know if Dimitri is my beloved? They won't know the feeling because all of them didn't find it...yet.

"Hija, oh! We have a visitor", our mother said when she saw Dimitri and me sitting on the sofa, talking about life and our relationship.

"Mother, this is Dimitri", pakilala ko sa kanya.

"Oh! How lovely", she smile. "I'm Veronika's mother", sabi nito. Nilingon niya ang aming ama na kakapasok lang din sa loob ng mansion.

Maids flock to him when he said his orders to them.

"It's nice to meet you, madame", sabi nito.

Tumawa si mama. "It's almost dinner time, where's your brothers, Veronika?", she turn to me and ask.

"Outside, mother", sagot ko.

Ilang sandali ay narinig ko ang kanilang mga boses na papasok sa loob. Nauna si Ambrogio at kasunod nito si Cecilion at Nathaniel na mukhang nag-aaway.

"Dinner is ready. Come", she said to me and gestured Dimitri to come with us.

Ng makaupo na kaming lahat doon sa hapag ay natahimik kami. All foods are serve at sobrang dami nito. Nilingon ko si Dimitri na mukhang nahihiya sa harapan ng aking pamilya.

Father cleared his throat and speak. "Young man, what's your name?".

"Dimitri, sir. Dimitri Sabbattar", sabi ni Dimitri.

Father nodded. "So where did you meet my daughter?", he asked again, seriously and coldly.

Cecilion eyed me like I should do something.

"In the town market, papa", ako na ang sumagot.

"So, hijo, what brings you here?", si mama naman ngayon.

Nathaniel laugh. "To show his body with dirty drawings", sabi nito.

"Nathaniel", kaagad na saway ni mama sa kanya pero tawa pa rin ito ng tawa.

"To get to know you, madame and sir. And to ask you for Veronika's hand in marriage", nilingon ako ni Dimitri.

"What!?", kaagad na umalma si Cecilion.

I look at him and smile. I smile each one of them. "I told you, Cecilion. We're in love", sabi ko.

His mouth drop open and look at father.

"Does your family knows our daughter, Dimitri? Did she meet them?", father asked.

"Yes, sir. She meet my parents and they liked her very much", Dimitri smiled and look at me. I smile too.

"Did they treated you well, hija?", si mama.

"Yes, mother. His family is awesome", sagot ko dito.

"So, when do you parents come here and meet us?", si papa na may tipid na ngiti sa labi.

Medyo nabuhayan ako ng pag-asa doon. If father agree with it. My brothers have nothing to do against it.

"Father, think about it thoroughly", si Cecilion.

He's favored by our father. Father listen to his words. Kinabahan ako.

"No, father. I want to get married. Please!", I almost pleaded to father.

I know he loves me. He'll do everything I ask for.

He sigh. "Cecilion is right, Veronika. I need to think it thoroughly. But, on the other side, if you're happy with it. I'll support your decision", our father said kaya halos mapatalon ako sa tuwa.

My brothers look constipated now. Ambrogio look too serious while Cecilion shook his head in disbelief and Nathaniel, eyed Dimitri with daggers, like sending him warnings.

"But, Veronika. Aren't you too young for marriage?", si Ambrogio ng hindi napigilan.

I heard father groaned and I saw mother eyed him but he didn't care.

"You haven't known each other for year, how come you're so sure about him?", he added.

"That's enough!", si papa habang nakatagis ang bagang na nakatingin kay Ambrogio. "That's your sister's decision and honor it. You're not in the place to forbid her!", he said, almost shouted.

"Father, we can't deny that Ambrogio is right. Veronika is too young for marriage!", si Cecilion. "Please, think about it, sister. Know him deeper".

"Why!? Isn't it enough that we love each other, brother? How can you say that? Oh! Well, you said that because you, yourself didn't even know how it feels. You haven't found someone to love so you'll screw me up. Stop being so overprotective, it's not funny!", sigaw ko sa kanya. Napatayo ako dahil sa galit ko.

"Veronika, sit down. Let's not fight in front of the food!", boses ng aming ama.

Habol ang aking hininga, my chest moves up and down as I try to breath hard. Nilingon ko ang aming ama ngayon.

"My decision is final. I'll let Veronika marry Dimitri. It's her choice that I should respect", sabi nito.

Kahit na ganoon ang nangyari ay hindi na ako makangiti. I fight with Cecilion. How can he be so selfish? He doesn't want me to marry? He doesn't believe Dimitri loves me and I love him too.

How can he say that someone loves somebody when in the first place he didn't feel it? Screw him.

Pagkatapos ng hapunan ay isinama ko si Dimitri sa aking silid. Father and mother aren't strict. We're getting married anyway.

"I'm sorry about earlier. It's just that my brothers are overprotective of me", sabi ko sa kay Dimitri ng makapasok na kami.

"I understand your brothers. They should be overprotective of you. You are their only sister. I'll do the same if it happened to my sister", sabi niya sa akin.

See? Dimitri is kind. He's not bad like what Cecilion is trying to prove to me. I'll prove them all wrong. Dimitri is the right choice. He's the best of all the choices.
