⚜III. Stages⚜

Third Peron's POV

Nakatulog ang mga nagbabantay sa tatlo. Nagising lamang sila ng makarinig ng malakas na kalabog ng bakal sa loob ng cellar.

Ambrogio is awake but his two brothers are still unconscious.

"What's happening!?", galit na sigaw ni Ambrogio. Kaagad siyang napatingin sa mga nagbabantay. His eyes grew dark red as his sight darted to their neck with visible nerves.

He can hear the blood flowing inside their viens.

"Sabihin mo gising na ang isa", takot na sabi ng isang nagbabantay.

Mabilis namang lumabas ang isang lalaki at ibinalita iyon sa matanda. The old lady rush to the cellar kahit hindi na ganoon kabilis maglakad.

When she saw Ambrogio awake, her eyes widened. Ito lang ang nagising sa pang limang araw. She immediately concluded that Ambrigio is the strongest of them three.

"What's happening? Why am I here and why am I like this!?", Ambrogio spat angrily to the old lady.

They unlocked one human at itinulak nila ito palapit sa kulongan ni Ambrogio.

"Huwag po! Maawa kayo!", iyak ng isang babae habang papalapit kay Ambrogio.

His eyes are still red, craving for blood and urge to take life. Mabilis hinablot ni Ambrogio ang babae at kinagat ang leeg nito. He sipped every ounce of her blood, until last drop. He drinks her blood til he get to rip her head off from her body.

Ambrogio fall into the ground, gasping for air. "What happened?", he asked calmly now.

"You are a vampire now, my brave and strong grandson, Ambrogio", the old lady said as she step closer go the cell but not to close for Ambrogio's reach.

"The contracting of vampirism is done in you. You've finished the four stages", ngumiti ng matanda.

Kumunot ang noo ni Ambrogio.

"W-What!? H-How?", hindi makapaniwalang tanong ni Ambrogio.

The old lady just smile. "You should be grateful for that kind of power, Ambrogio. You can do incredible things with your abilities", sabi nito.

"My brothers?", he asked.

"They're not awake yet. You're the first one", sabi nito.

Hindi nagsalita si Ambrogio. He thinks to high of himself for gaining consciousness first than his other brothers. He think he's stronger than them, well, it's the truth.

Matagal pa nagising ang dalawa. Hanggang sa dumaan ang dalawang araw ay doon pa nagkamalay si Cecilion, ilang oras ay ganoon din si Nathaniel.

They are both feed with human blood directed from the viens.

"What happened?", si Cecilion.

The old lady answered him like what she told to Ambrogio na ngayon ay nakalaya na. He's free, he's blood lust is done.

"What happened? How many days are we unconscious?", si Nathaniel.

"Seven days, son", sagot ng matanda. "It should be twelve days but you've made it in seven days. You're strong", the old lady said.

"What stages?", Cecilion asked confusedly.

"Stages for contracting vampirism", sagot ng matanda. "You've surpassed the four stages!".

Mas lalong kumunot ang noo ni Cecilion. Nathaniel didn't care. He just listen but he's not caring about anything.

"In stage one, the vampirism destroys the immune system and replaces it with its own. Victims may feel a bit weak. In two, this stage occurs the about 30 hours after contraction in this stage, the body is changed and prepared for a vampiric life. It is followed by dilated pupils, irregular heartbeat, coughs and chills, high fever, body ache, headaches, weakened sight and stomach ache. Have you felt it?", the old lady asked.

"In my sleep", sagot ni Nathaniel but Cecilion is serious while listening.

The old lady continue. "Three, this stage occurs about two to three days after contraction. It is followed by weakness to sunlight and an insatiable blood-thirst. But you're not weak in sunlight. You're created special. Only the vampires who's under vampiric blood transition and vampiric birth are weak in sunlight", the old lady said and she continue. "This stage occurs about five days after the contraction. Patient enters a coma and wakes up about 16 to 48 hours later. Upon waking up, the patient is a vampire".

"H-How? We've never completed the twelve days?", Cecilion asked.

"You're strong to fight all of it. Because there's already magic flowed in your bloods. Only normal humans will suffer for twelve days with the rituals", sagot nito.

"How long are we gonna staying here?", tanong ni Cecilion.

"You'll be release tomorrow", the old lady said and leave the cellar.

Naiwan si Cecilion at Nathaniel doon sa loob. Ambrogio is nowhere to be found. Maybe, he's in the town, rejoicing and making his abilities his advantage for feeding and doing things he wants.

"I'm a vampire? That's sick!", natatawang sambit ni Nathaniel. He wounded himself with aluminum. Nanlaki ang mga mata niya when he saw his wound healed immediately. "This is sick!".

Cecilion just look at him. He is still sinking every information to his brain.

"Why are we still here? We're okay now?", si Nathaniel na maingay na nagsasalita.

"Just wait. Maybe its still dangerous for us to go out", sagot niya sa kapatid.

They look dirty. Ilang araw din silang nanatili sa loob ng cellar. They smell like metal and dust.

"Oh! Come on, brother. I'm craving for the taste of sweet blood", Nathaniel chuckled.

Cecilion glared his eyes to his brother. "We're not created to be a monster".

"We are. We kill and take life. We feed with blood. That sweet, sweet thing", Nathaniel said playfully and smirk to his brother.

Cecilion just ignore what his brother said. He think when he get out of the cellar, he'll play nice and behave like what he is before. But he's wrong. His life before won't be the same now. He'll behave differently.

Ng makalabas na sila. Ay hinayaan sila kung saan sila magpunta. They are free to wander around but with condition. No one should know who they are. It should be a secret.

Nathaniel and Cecilion go on their ways together, and feed on humans outside the town.

Nathaniel laughs on Cecilion. "Oh! Brother. Behave nicely", he said to Cecilion who's feeding on humans hardly.

Napatingin lang ito sa kanyang kapatid na tila hindi makapaniwala sa nagawa. Kaagad niyang binitawan ang katawan ng isang lalaki at hinayaang matumba ang katawan nito, kasabay ay ang pagkalaglag ng ulo nito. The two of them killed five people. Cecilion feed on two humans but Nathaniel is wildly feeding on three.

"We're a monster", nasambit ni Cecilion sa sarili.

"Oh! I like this games. Death and kill!", Nathaniel laugh.
