Zachary:

"What did you say who she was?"

"You really want my honest answer, right? That's the truth." My dad declares to me.

"You're only making story, dad. That can't be possibly true."

"Ask your mom about it." I fall under my knees and was only staring at the wilderness. Hindi makapaniwala at hapong paulit-ulit na bumabalik sa utak ko ang katagang: 'She's my daughter.' No, that can't be possible. Kung ganun bakit si mang Artemio pa ang dapat na mangalaga sa bata at hindi siya.

"Then, why didn't you acknowledge her as you're daughter?"

Manuel's POV:

"What are you talking about?" My father asked me in his full anger.

"She's pregnant and I am going to marry her." I said full of courage despite knowing that he would not agree about it. And as expected he hit me with his cane.

"Pakakasalan mo siya? You're insane! I would never accept that girl in our family." He hit and hit me. "Go, marry her and you will never receive any inheritance from me, not even a single penny. So, go and destroy your life with her." then, at last he stop.

"I love her, dad. She's the only woman that I want to marry. Please give us your permission, she's good and a very nice person, dad at alam kong matutunan niyo rin siyang tanggapin sa pamilyang 'to sooner or later. Please, dad. Don't make things miserable for us."

"Anong gayuma ang pinainom niya sayo ha? Matalino ka naman pero hindi ko alam na may pagkabobo ka rin pala pagdating sa babae. Hindi kita pinalaking ganyan para lang mapunta sa babaeng wala namang pinag-aralan."

"Dad, you can't just make an assumption because she did not finish her studies. Trust me; if you could just know her then you will be able to know that she's the perfect girl for me." He stares at me in disbelief.

"What? She's the perfect girl? You're not even in your right mind, Manny. You better get out in this room right now. I don't want to talk to an insane person like you or else you might end up dying."

"I will still marry her, dad." I said before leaving his room.

"Trust me, okay. Ikaw lang ang gusto kong makasama for the rest of my life, so please, try to trust me. I will never let them harm you."

"Mawawalan ka ng mana, Manuel. Mawawala sayo lahat ng yamang tinatatamasa mo ngayon. Kaya mo ba talagang mamuhay ng wala ang mga magulang mo?"

"Can you really see me as a man?" napatingin si Thalia sa akin ng may pagtataka. "I can work. I will work hard for you, for the child na dinadala mo. Marami akong pwedeng mapagtrabahuan, Thalia. Ano naman ang magiging silbi ng yaman na iyon kung di ko rin naman makakasama ang babaeng pinakamamahal ko."

"But—" magpoprotesta pa sana siya nang nilagay ko sa gitna ng bibig niya ang hintuturo ko.

"Shhhh.. stop worrying okay? I'll take care of it. Makakasama lang yan sa anak natin."
