Author's Note: Hey guys! Just saying. There are now three, repeat three, New books of The Dragon Prince coming out! Woohoo! You can check them and freak out about it here.
So yeah! Let's blow this popsicle stand!
"So... That's what happened?" I asked Callum. After Ellis texted me with a thing called a phone, saying Rayla told her, I'd immediately rushed to Callum to verify. Not that I thought that Ellis would ever lie to me, but I couldn't believe Rayla would kill someone.
I mean, the reason we were all together was because of Rayla not killing me. It seemed very out of character, and not at all... Rayla-ish.
Then again, my brother wasn't exactly acting normal, either.
Callum nodded. "Yeah, well, that's it."
For a moment, silence reigned between us. The teacher had cancelled the play, thank God, because the hurricane seemed to be dying down. That was a really random hurricane though.
Just then, a student I hadn't seen before today, November 30, (Wow, we'd been gone for so long?!) walked up to us. He wore all black, everything about him was black except for his skin, which was an odd milky white.
"Hey." He said in a husky, stiff voice. "I'm Derek. Derek Mejik. That hurricane was, like, insane, huh?"
Callum and I blinked at each other, and for a minute it was like we were back at Katolis. "Hi." Callum replied. "I'm Callum. Uh, Callum Harrowson."
"Ezran King." I said, watching him. Something about him seemed... Off. Like the way Claudia and Viren were off. Just a kind of wrongness.
More silence.
"Well, I'm looking for a chick with white hair. Violet eyes, kinda sad-looking. Ya seen her?"
For some reason, I didn't want Derek to know anything else. I shook my head at the same time as Callum replied. "Oh, you mean Rayla? Rayla Lunarson?"
Derek nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, that's her! Uh, y'know where to find her?"
Callum pointed, and Derek grinned. "Ah, great, dude. Thanks a load." He smirked at me before running in the direction Callum had indicated.
Callum stared at me. "What's the deal with you pretending not to know Rayla?" He interrogated.
I shrugged. "Doesn't it seem weird? I mean, everyone here doesn't like her, then all of a sudden this random guy wants to find her? I'm adding 2 to 10, and I'm getting 10."
"Hmmm." Callum replied.
I changed the subject. "Soooo... Any plans for December?"
Callum shrugged. "Annual family get together." He sighed. " Harrowsons and Lunarsons. Rayla's dad Ethari will be coming back from work, so we're celebrating. Like every year. Got any plans?"
I wanted to scream that me and Ellis' rescue plan was going great, 'cause reinforcements were arriving, but he might freak out. "Huh? No, guess not."
"Then why don't you come over to my place during break?" He suggested. "Dad and Mom won't mind."
Perfect. I thought. "Yeah, sure. Can Ellis come?"
Callum nodded, smiling. "Sure. Why the heck not?"
Great. Now, me and Ellis would meet with reinforcements, who hopefully brought the Package. He better have. I just hope doing that didn't land Claudia in trouble.

When I got back to my locker, I couldn't find Ellis, so I left a note on her locker in code.
Elle,
Package is in play. Horses coming. Callum invited us for Dec. Break. Coffee brewing, but it in freezer. White turn to move. Watch out for Yin-Yang. Be careful. Meet me at the twisted brain document.
