I rub my elbow, still salty. I let myself be pushed over that easily? I rub Ava for comfort, and she pants happily. At least one of us is happy.

A teacher comes in, and both me and Ava's ears perk up. I hope this is good.

"Ivywoodians." Mrs. Bantyback says. "We've decided to have you do a play to keep you busy. This play is Romeo and Juliet."

Everyone groans. People mutter angrily. The teacher continues reading the names. "For Fair Rosaline, Ellis. And for Gentleman Tomas, Ezran."

I blush, my heart pounding. Tomas is the one who dances with Rosaline. But the next part is a thriller. "For Romeo, Callum Harrowson."

Everyone wolf whistles, and Genelyn snuggles with him. He isn't showing his face, but the next part makes my blood freeze. "For Juliet, Rayla Lunarson."

Silence. As if the whole world was holding its breath. Then everyone howls with laughter, and Genelyn shrieks and stands up. "Teacher, I'm supposed to be Juliet!!!"

The teacher shakes her head. "No, it says clearly: Rayla Lunarson."

Beside me, Rayla pulled her hood over her head and buries her head in her knees.

I suddenly feel bad for Rayllum- I mean Rayla and Callum.

This is going to be a long play, isn't it?
