Around 7:30, I heard Rayla get up and leave the room, probably to get something hot. On her way back, I also heard Callum stop her in the living room.

"Can't sleep?" I heard Callum say. There was a bit of silence, which probably meant that Rayla was thinking about what to do. The creak of the couch meant she had most likely sat down.

"Are you going to talk to me?" She said as I peeked around the doorway, trying to get a glimpse of what was happening. Rayla was sitting on the couch next to Callum with a mug of what probably hot chocolate.

Racing back inside before Rayllum Rayla and Callum could spot me, and yanked a walkie talkie out from under my pillow. It was a 6 kilometer walkie talkie that I had gotten with Ezran some time ago. He also had the other one.

"Ez!" I whisper-screamed into the walkie talkie. "Wake up! We're about see some Rayllum action!"

"What!?!?!?!?" Ezran practically yelled in my ear.

"Shh, tone down Ez!" I held the walkie talkie away from my ear. "And hurry up, they're talking!"

In the background, Rayla said "I don't like bread crusts."

"Okay, I'm coming." Ezran said through the walkie talkie. "Meet you in the hall."

"On it." I whispered back, before hanging up. Can you hang up on a walkie talkie?

Silently hopping around the room trying to get my right boot on, I heard Callum tell Rayla that he liked this game called 'Pokémon'. Rayla quickly responded that she had never heard of it and that was her chosen piece of information.

Finally getting both boots on, I tiptoed into the hallway, where Ezran was waiting.

"I thought you said hurry up." He whispered. " Although you didn't miss much. And you could probably hear them, but I think it would be better to have a front row seat. "

"Sorry," I said quietly. " I was trying to put my boots on silently. "

"Shh, Callum's talking!" Ezran said, leaning forward to hear.

Callum looked around, then leaned forward and whispered directly into Rayla's ear, andI could have sworn her ears went horizontally down. Hmm. "I don't actually like Genelyn's choice of handbag." He whispered. Ezran nearly fell into the living room trying to hear, but I caught him and dragged him back in just in time. Callum looked around again soon after, probably to see if Genelyn was going to pop out of nowhere and yell 'AHA' at him.

She didn't. Callum looked like he was sighing with relief.

"I don't like Nyleneg." Rayla said with disgust.

" Huh? What's that? " Callum asked. It was Genelyn backwards. Looking at Ezran, he nodded to confirm that he figured that out too.

"Its... um... A brand." Rayla said quickly. A bit too quickly.

"Oh. Okay. Never heard of it."

" It's not very well known. "

"Okay. If you say so. I like bushes more then trees."

This goes on for awhile before Rayla says: " The sun's coming up. " Callum obviously knows what she means. Rayla gets up to check if me and Alesa are still asleep. Then I realize that Rayla will notice I'm not in bed.

Dashing through the shadows and trying to stay hidden, I jump onto my sleeping bag seconds before Rayla arrives. Closing my eyes and pretending to be asleep, I desperately hope that Rayla won't notice the fact that 1) I'm wearing shoes, and 2) that I'm on top of my sleeping bag instead of in it in the middle of winter. Luckily, she didn't notice either. She ran back out again and I could hear her and Callum giggling, then the front door opening and closing. I quickly got up and ran to the hall, where Ez unflattened himself from the wall, and we both ran out the back door, closing it quietly.

Racing to the front of the house, we stopped and peered around the corner. Rayllum Rayla and Callum were sitting on the porch swing, watching the sun rise. Ez stepped on a stick and it cracked. We both ducked behind the house.

I elbowed Ezran. "Quick, get the camera." I hissed. Ezran nodded and ran inside. He came back a moment later with the camera. By now, Rayla was leaning against Callum, and again, I swear I saw Rayla's ears go down.

Squealing silently, me and Ez went around, quietly taking pictures from all angles. We even managed to get one from the front.

Then came the telltale squeak of Ez's Aunt Amaya getting out of bed. In a flash, Rayllum Rayla and Callum were gone and so were we. Running to the back door, me and Ezran split up, each heading to our separate rooms. Rayla got to our room first, but by the sound of it, she was asleep by the time her head hit the pillow. Same with Callum in the living room. Quietly opening the door, I get in the room and manage to close it just as Ez's Aunt Amaya's head pokes into view.

Collapsing into my sleeping bag, I confirm my suspicion that Rayla was already asleep and probably didn't notice me being gone. Whew. As I fall asleep, I wonder how long it will take to get back to Xadia and how many people will be dead by then.

"Buddy you're a writer make a big noise

Writin' on the desk gonna be a author some day
You got ink on yo' face
You big disgrace
Failin' word counts all over the place
Writin' "

I jumped up and immediately for tangled in my sleeping bag. Rayla was already up and about, running around the room trying to put both boots on at once. "Come on!" She yelled. " Whatever you're wearing at the end of the song you wear for the rest of the day!"

"NaNo NaNo NANO
(Write it out!)
NaNo NaNo NANO

Buddy you're an writer author
Writin' with your tries gonna make you some peace some day
You got ink on your face
Big disgrace
Somebody better write you back at your place

NaNo NaNo NANO
(Write it!)
NaNo NaNo NANO"

Callum was also on the move, yelling "Pants! I need pants!" Rayla ran out of the room, probably to get Callum pants.

Finally untangling myself I jump up and realize I hadn't taken off my boots earlier. Ah well. Saves time anyways. Racing out the room, I brace myself for the first event: snow biking.
