Author's Note: Chapter may be a little short. Sorry, I'm writing this in Math, while hacking into the Wi-Fi hotspot of the principal XD She's a jerk.
I sigh.
We've been stuck here in the main building for a few hours, and the rain seems to be getting stronger. I'm walking through the halls, roaming restlessly. Ahead of me, someone's leaning against a wall, their black hoodie obscuring their face.
I forge ahead, but as I pass them, their hand shoots out and grabs my jacket, stopping me. "Ez says you have something to show me." Rayla said quietly.
"Rayla?!?!" I exclaim. She nods. "But... You only have one hoodie, and it's green!"
She smiles slightly, and unzips her hoodie. The lining is green. "You forget. It's a black hoodie, but it can be reversed, and I like the green side better."
I shudder. "Well, Ezran was wrong. I don't have anything to do with you."
Rayla quirks a smile. "That's not what he said." Then she lunges forward, grabbing my sketchbook that hangs at my side. I yelp, caught off guard, and she flips it open. Her eyebrows raise and she blushes, but she teases me. "Ooh. I see why he wanted me to look."
I yelp, grabbing back the book. "It was once!" Inside the book is my deepest, darkest secrets. I've been drawing my family for as long I can remember. But that's not the secret. The secret is the section of all my drawings of Rayla at the back. I've been drawing her since I was 3. And she's never seen it until now.
She smirks. "Hmmmm... Someone hasn't been watching me closely as we grew up."
I blush, grabbing it back. "It's none of your business!" I growl, stalking off.

We're forced to sit according to grade, and it's dark, and I have to sit with Rayla, Ellis, and Ezran.
In other words, life is just peachy.
Genelyn and I are curled up, and she's whining about no Wi-Fi and how her hair is messed up. For a second, I'm irritated. Rayla would never talk about things like this. If she talked at all, it would probably be about something we're both interested in. Or maybe we'd just play a game. But we wouldn't whine about Wi-Fi and hair.
Actually, scratch that. I think she might if someone held a gun to her head and told her to say that.
Wait, maybe not.
"You aren't even listening!" Genelyn screeches.
"Of course I am!" I protest.
"Then what did I just say?" She challenged.
My response? Stare with my mouth open. I'm such a genius.
She shrieks in frustration. Rayla covers her ears and glares in our direction from the safety of under her desk. For an instance, I almost laugh. When we were little kids, I loved sitting and standing on tables, while on the other hand, Rayla loved hiding under them. A smile crosses my face, and Genelyn shrieks again, then stalks off.
Her path crosses Ellis' and I'm ready to attack if Ellis hurts Genelyn. They smack into each other, and retorts are exchanged. I get up and start towards them, but then Genelyn pushes Ellis to the floor, where the latter falls on Rayla and Ezran. I stop in confusion.
Genelyn was pushing them around, because she's laughing at them.
Now I'm uncertain. Who's side should I be on?
