Flint Marko's POV

I was walking into the White Fang camp.

Two guards were walking me over to their boss, Adam Taurus.

He turned to me.

"Flint," he said. "It's been a while."

I nodded. "It sure is."

"Shouldn't you be with your daughter?" he asked.

"She's still sick," I answered.

"And you want a job again?" he asked.

"Yes."

"I told you, I don't give jobs to humans." He began walking away.

"Wait!" I said. "I heard you were working on some kind of experiment to mutate the body."

He chuckled. "And why would I let you test it out?"

"You don't want to hurt any of your fellow faunus get killed by your experiment, do you?"

He walked up to me. "And why would you risk your life for our experiments?"

"I'll do anything to save my daughter."

He smiled. "It's a deal. You get 30 lien."

Timeskip

I stood in the center of the sand mutator.

The machine started to activate.

Inside, there were faunus watching me.

"He's in the machine," one of them said. "Everyone ready?"

"Uh... looks like there's a change in the silicon mass," another one said.

"It's probably a bird," another said.

A bird faunus was standing nearby.

"Oh," he said. "Sorry."

He flew away.

"Okay, we're good," a faunus said. "Let's get started."

The machine began to glow, and the sticks that started the mutation began to lower around me and spin.

It slowly began to speed up, until it was moving at an incredible speed.

The sand began to fly around me.

I held my hands up to my face to keep sand from flying into my eyes, when I realized they were starting to turn into sand.

The sand on my fingers began to blow off, taking my hand away with them.

I looked at my body, and I realized the same was happening there!

I started to scream as the last parts of my body disappeared.

'I just want to see Penny... one more time...'
