The Maia slowed down as a group of red paladins on horses cam charging towards them
"quickly Allison, use your bow" Adira demands and Allison is quick to pull her bow of her shoulder and grab an arrow, she quickly put the arrow in the bow and pulled back the string as they came charging towards them
"remember Allison, take a deep breath, and then shoot" The weeping warrior reminds and quickly copies Allisons actions and then both of them let go and two arrows go flying through the air and strike two different paladins, perfectly in the centre of their chests and they fall of the horses
Allison and the weeping warrior quickly get off of the horse and stand next to each other, ready to fight
"Remember Allison, they are bigger than you and carry swords, but you can use your size to an advantage okay, and don't do anything reckless" The weeping warrior tells the young girl quickly and the paladins were now almost at them
"Yes master" Allison replies and while the weeping warrior is shocked at the name she had just been called, now wasn't the time to put any thought into it
The weeping warrior runs forward first and quickly grabs both of her swords in her two hands and blocks the attacks from th paladins while cutting into them. Allison stood back and fired arrows at the paladins, and while she was skilled with the bow and arrow, she had only just recently begun to learn how to use them so she did miss a few shots
"Dont stop Allison" Adira commands the young girl and Allison nods her head and continues to fire arrows but more and more red paladins just came
"Quickly, kill the weeping warrior"
"Kill her"
"Kill the demons"
A paladin came in from behind them and went right for Allison and charged for her with his sword held right above his head
"Allison, look out" Adira yells loudly and Allison moves just in time to dodge the blow but she lands on the ground and the paladin goes for her again so Adira stops fighting the men around her as she tries to get to Allison in time but from her distance, she knew that was impossible so she bent down quickly and grabbed a small blade out of her pocket and just as the sword was coming down for Allison, Adira threw the blade and it flew straight into the paladins neck and blood sprayed all over Allison and Adiras short moment of relief was cut short as she feels a blade go straight through her side
"Shit" Adira curses and turns to glare at the paladin and he smirks at her
"Not so great now, are you wimpy warrior?" the paladin asks with a grin and Adira clicks her finger and suddenly a pile of earth underneath him shakes and the hard dirt shoots up and stabs right through him, killing him instantly. She hated using her elemental powers to harm others, but he had pissed her off. She glares at the men around her "Now, whos next, you troll faced freaks?"
They looked at her in horror and shock and took a careful step back and she was now grinning but Allison was looking at her in worry due to the large amount of blood pouring out of her side
"You will die, witch" One of the men yells and runs towards her but Allison throws one of her ring daggers at him and it also flies straight into his neck and Adira turns to look at Allison who had an unreadable expression on her face as she watched the blood spray from the mans neck
"Allison ar-" Adira asks but Allisons unreadable expression then turns to a proud grin and Allison walks over and grabs the blade out of the mans neck and then stands next to Adira and they stare at the remaining paladins, which wasn't many
"Listen here you stupid, elephant ass, poop eating baboons, from this moment forward you should know never, to mess with the weeping warrior or her apprentice" Allison says proudly and she glares at all of the men
None of the men say anything, instead they all just stare at her in shock and then at the weeping warrior in fear and they all quickly get back onto their horses and rode away. Allison and Adira look around at all of the bodies on the ground, the once beautiful green grass was now covered in a crimson red liquid. The felt guilty but yet other emotions covered their guilt.
Allison was happy she was able to help the weeping warrior and glad she could stand by her side in battle, she was honoured to be known as the weeping warriors apprentice. Before in the village before it was raided and attacked by the red paladins she had a mum and a dad but she didn't have a family. Her dad was never home and when he was he never talked to her besides instructing her to clean the house or to get out of his face. Her mum on the other hand was home almost all of the time but she treated Allison like a pest, that was destructive and a pain in the ass. Allison had a house, but she didn't have a home, but now it was all different. She had the weeping warrior who she looked up to and she saw as her mum, she treated the girl far better than her mother or father had ever done and the weeping warrior had taught her more than her father had ever taught her. the weeping warrior was her family and the weeping warrior was her home. Allison felt content with her new life and while there were specific parts that she didn't love, the good covered the bad and the weeping warrior made it seem like there was no bad.
Adira felt proud. proud that Allison had learnt so quickly, proud how courageous and kind the young girl was, and while she had a horrible past that she didn't know much of, she still smiled. Allison didn't turn away in fear when the men who had been hunting her came up to her, instead she stayed and fought. and she won. they won. Together, and With Allison by her side over the past week and a bit, Adira had forgotten about all the loniless she had felt over the last 9 years. Allison was important to her, and anyone that saw the way Adira looked at the girl could see it. Allison and Adira looked at each other like a mother and daughter would look at each other, and while Adira wasn't the birth mother of the girl, she was more of a mother than allisons birth mother. They loved each other, in the short amount of time that they got to know each other, they fell in love and the love between a mother and a daughter is a bond of the strongest kind. It is the love of the present, interwoven with the memories of the past and dreams of the future. It is wanting only the best for each other and always wanting to help the other when they are in need. It is an unconditional love and internal and unbreakable no matter how far apart they were
"Come, Allison, We must continue, the fey need our help" Adira tells the young girl and helps her onto the back of the horse "Im proud of you, you are so young"
"Yeah well i look younger than i actually am" Allison replies and the weeping warrior looks at her with a raised eyebrow, waiting for the girl to continue "well when i went to talk to the elders they all said i looked like i was 11 but I'm actually 13"
The weeping warriors eyes widened in surprise "well, that explains a lot"
