CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

SAGE

"Kumakain ka na ba nito?" I shooked my head.

"Eh, eto?" Macky took another stick of meat. It's familiar to me but I don't know it's name.

"Nope." Sinimnagutan niya ako. Kinagat niya ang isang meat doon.

"Ano ba yan, hindi mo rin alam. Ano bang alam mo sa mundo?" I rolled my eyes.

"Marami, pwera lang that." She offered me the stick with the familiar meat.

"Bituka ng baboy 'to. Masarap to." She tried to put a meat in my mouth using her hands.

"Did you washed you hands?" Reklamo ko pero wala na akong nagawa nang isubo niya na sa akin ang isa. I tried to munch it.

"Di ba masarap?" I tasted the meat. It's pretty delicious. It's just too chewy.

"This takes forever to melt." Tumawa si Macky.

We just finished our work. Pauwi na kami ngayon. I've been working at the fast food for a week and a half now. Isang linggo na rin ang nakalipas after I told Antonio to stop. After that scene, he never showed up again.

And I don't regret it. This is is for the both of us.

No, Sage. You're just selfish little coward.

I shooked my toughts off. I am really hating my brain this past few days. Kung pwede lang tanggalin to sa katawan, I already did months ago!

"Bakit?" Tinignan ako ni Macky ng masama. She's been my companion this past few days. I don't like her sticking with me but she's okay to be with. Minsan naiinis ako sa kanya, but whatever words come out of her mouth make sense compared to my other co-workers. Winston is okay too. He's kind and he's not the annoying type.

"Saan ka na sasakay?" I took a glance at Macky. I frowned when I saw her lips full of grease. Gross.

I took my handkerchief and put it on her lips. "You're so dirty."

Kinuha ni Macky and panyo. She smiled as she clean her face using my handkerchief. Inamoy niya ito. "Ang bango ha. Aniya. "Arbor."

I rolled my eyes. "Bahala ka." I saw a taxi and immediately called it.

"Weh? Akin na to? Yay, hindi ko ito iwawala ang mahal nito!" Aniya. "Sasakay ka na?"

The taxi stopped in front us. "Obviously." Sagot ko.

"Ingat ka, huh!" I gave her a meaningful look. Tss.

"You too." I said and grabbed the door of the taxi. Pumasok ako sa loob. I saw Macky waved at me.

Napailing-iling ako. I can't believe she's still hanging out with me. What a martyr.

Nakarating ako sa unit ko and as usual, marami na namamg kalat. I've been coming home earlier. Nakaschedule na ako ngayon tuwing umaga. I like it better than night shifts. I feel like I am more productive during morning schedules.

I looked upon the watch and it's only 1 in the afternoon. I sat on the sofa. Dumako ang tingin ko sa kitchen and a guy washing dishes suddenly flashed my mind.

Napapikit ako. Common Sage. Move on! Grabe ka naman hindi nga nagtagal dito yang si Antonio pero kung makamissed ka naman.

I massaged my temple. Missed my foot.

Tumunog amg cellphone ko. My heart suddenly jumped. It's been a while since someone called me. It is not him right?

I took my phone and sighed. It's Mommy. Why did I even thought that it's him? It's been a week now, maybe he already got over me. He's just infatuated.
