SAGE

I went straight to the kitchen as soon as we entered my condo. I opened the refrigerator and drank some water.

"Are you alright?" Tanong ni Antonio. Tinignan ko siya ng masama. I can't believe he punched his friend just because of me!

Bumuntong hininga ako. "I want to take a rest."

Antonio shooked his head. "You are not alright." He said and walk towards me.

He gave ma backhug. "Are you upset because of them?" Napairap ako.

"I am upset because of you!" I said honestly.

"Sakin?" I felt his breath on my cheeks. "Bakit sakin?"

Saglit akong natahimik at biglang napaisip. "Will you be an outcast now that you're dating me?" He looked at me confused. "Sinuntok mo yung kaibigan mo! Aawayin ka na nila." He suddenly laughed at what I said.

"This isn't funny!" Asik ko. "This is a serious matter!" Hindi kasi naiintindihan nito kung paano maging outcast eh. I am okay being an outcast, but I can't imagine Antonio being one! At dahil pa sakin!

"I won't be an outcast." He said and kissed my cheeks. "I just gave him some lesson."

"But he's your friend." I said.

"He isn't. Don't worry about that. I have a lot of friends and they're a lot better and more matured than that person." Bumuntong hininga muli ako. I am now quite convinced.

"I'm going to sleep now." I said. Antonio hugged me tighter.

"Pinapauwi mo na ba ko?" Tanong niya. I suddenly thought of the canceled plan.

"Let's go sleep." I felt him nod.

"Okay, I'll go home now." Binitawan niya ako. I grabbed his arms and stopped him. Nilingon niya naman akong nagtataka.

"Didn't you hear me? I said, let's go to sleep now." He didn't immediately reply. Tinignan niya ako at sinubukang basahin ang nasa utak ko.

"Do you want me to sleep here?" He asked. Without further ado, I pulled him to my room.

Humiga kami pareho sa kama ko. We both took our shoes off. Antonio pulled me closer so we could hug.

"Your bed feels so comfortable." He said.

"Isn't it because I'm by your side?" He hugged me tighter.

"Probably."

We stayed silent for a minute before Antonio speaks.

"Should we get married?" Bigla niyang tanong. Kumunot naman ang noo ko.

"Gusto mo na kong itali even though I am still not in college? You're selfish!" Natawa naman ito.

"You can still attend school even though we're married. Hindi naman kita papatigilin. Pag-aaralin pa kita." Ako naman ngayon ang natawa. I looked at his face. He looks so serious, though.

I shooked my head. "I love you, but I will decline your proposal. Sorry." Kaagad niya naman akong sinimangutan.

"Why? Isn't love all that matters?" Ngumiwi naman ako sa narinig.

"That's so cringeworthy. It doesn't suits you." He laughed from what I said.

"Bakit ayaw mong pakasal tayo?" Napaisip ako sa tanong niya.

"Uhm..." He looked at me with expectation. "I want to pursue my dreams first." I said honestly. Binigyan niya ako ng makahulugang tingin.

"What is your dream?" Tanong niya. He pushed some hair strands off my face.
