CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

SAGE

Tatlong araw ang lumipas at hanggang ngayon hindi ko pa rin kinakausap si Monsy. He always try to talk me but I won't listen to whatever words he's saying.

I always spends more time at school because of him. I told myself, I am moving so I am doing it now.

"Kailangan kong pumunta sa computer shop." Winston said as we head our way towards the siomai store. "Uuwi ka na ba pagkatapos natin, kumain?" He asked.

I've been hanging out with him for days now. Akala pa nga ng iba boyfriend ko siya. I don't care whatever they think naman. There isn't a time that they think good of me, anyway.

"Oo sana, but I can go to you to the computer shop if you want." I said tyring not to come home early. I don't really know Monsy's schedule eh. Sometimes, he's home early. Sometimes, a bit late. So I'll just try to be late.

"Naku, huwag na. Maraming nacocomputer na mga kalalakihan doon. Ihahatid na lang kita pasakay."

Sumimangot ako sa narinig. I don't really want to go home though.

Tumigil kami nang nasa tapat na ng siomai store. Winston paid for my food kahit pa pinigilan ko siya. Dumako tuloy ang mata ko sa maga hawak niya.

"Are you going to photocopy that?" I asked guessing.

He finished his drink and looked at me. "Ah, oo." He said and put his trash on the near garbage bin. Ilalagay ko na rin sana ang inumin ko doon pero pinigilan niya ako.

"Hindi mo uubusin?" Tanong niya.

"Uhm, it's too sweet for me." I said not liking the taste of the lemon juice. Iyon nga ang inorder ko para hindi matamis but it's still full of sugar.

"Akin na." He said and took my drink. Inubos niya iyon.

I suddenly thought of an idea. "Should we go to our house?" Suhestiyon ko. Natigilan naman siya sa narinig.

"Sa bahay niyo? Sigurado ka?" Nagtataka niyang tanong. "Baka pagalitan ako doon ni Monsy." I frowned from what he said.

"I didn't know you know Monsy?" Taka kong sabi.

"Bumibisita siya sa store noon di ba? Kilala ko siya Sage."

Oh, right. I forgot about that.

"Nalaman ko rin ang nangyari sa inyo. Hindi niyo pala alam na magiging isa kayong pamilya." I rolled my eyes. Hindi na ako nagtataka na alam ng iba. I even heard others asking Monsy about us myself. Parang hindi makapaniwala na naging kami.

"Let's not try to ruin the mood by remembering that. Let's to our house. Sa amin ka na lang magphotocopy!" I said and pulled him out of there.

Bumaba ang taxi sa tapat ng bahay. Winston gasped at the sight of just the gate.

I pushed the button and the guard immediately recognized me and opened the gate. Ilang minuto ang nilakad namin para tuluyang marating ang bahay.

Winston looked at the small lake beside the road. "Ang ganda ng landscape ng bakuran niyo Sage." He said. "Paniguradong milyon ang ginastos dito. Hindi madali ang ganitong design!"

Tumaas naman ang kilay ko. "What do you expect? They have companies full of engineers and architects."

Iginiya ko siya paliko at natanaw namin ang bahay. "Bakit hindi ka na lang nagpapasundo?" Tanong niya.

I shooked my head. "It's alright. Ayokong nakakaabala."

Pumasok kami sa loob at dumiretso sa taas. Manang Tasya immediately gave us a meryenda kahit pa hindi naman ako nagsabi.
