ASH LEE’S POINT OF VIEW
I was bothered about what Lacson said when I confessed. She said kasi na I need to do something that would make Alexis feel that I deserve her. I mean, hello? I’m new to this.
Wala akong experience sa ganitong bagay, and hindi lang yon, this is also the first time that I’m admitting feelings towards a girl.
I know there’s nothing wrong about it naman, just that…I don’t have any idea when it comes to it.
“Hey, Ash? Hello? Are you still there?”
I snapped back into reality when I heard Haji calling me. I just realized now, na nandito nga pala kami sa coffee shop with Steph.
“Are you still with us?”
“Ha? I’m sorry, what is it?”
I asked, I forgot that I was here with them because Stephanie has yet another problem with her love life.
“You’re spacing out again, Ash.”
Stephanie pouted like a child, so I apologized immediately. “Is there something bothering you ba?”
“Do you have also a love life problem?”
Haji also asked me, I sighed and napa-isip kung pano ko ba sasabihin sa kanila yung situation ko.
“Don’t hesitate to tell us, Ash. We’re your friends naman oh.”
“I just......”
I don’t know how to start, hindi ko talaga alam. But still, I need to know how I should approach Alexis para kausapin na niya ako.
It’s been a month since she started avoiding me. Mas lalo akong naging distracted dahil sa ginagawa niya.
Mas lalo din siyang naging cold and even acting like I’m nothing to her. It kinda hurts lang.
I feel sad and disappointed because I did everything naman to make papansin to her but to no avail. Like, hello? It’s me, Ash Lee Scott, you should pansin me here oh!
But still, she remained cold. Ayaw niya pa rin, hindi na ata talaga siya natatamaan ng charm ko. Expired na ba? Psh.
“Ano kasi, how do I even explain this…?” I said hesistantly, hindi ko na alam, as in. “Like, okay let’s just say... I like someone.”
“Huh?! Wait what? Is this real?”
Nagulat akong onti dahil sa reaction ng dalawa. “I mean?! Ash Lee likes someone for the first time?”
“Why? Is there a problem?”
I asked them, parang grabe naman kasi mga violent reaction ng dalawang to.
“Bakit? Did you expect that I will be a matandang dalaga?”
“Malapit na hehe, but here you suddenly confessed this.” Haji joked, I rolled my eyes dahil nang aasar na naman. “But is it true ba?”
“Do I look like I’m nagbibiro?” I looked at them with a serious gaze.
“Argh, I know you both know since then that I’m not a fan of the idea of love.”
Well, I was being a pathetic and maybe a tad bit bitter. Like? Yes, I did experience having a boyfriend but that’s just a phase.
I didn’t feel any love talaga, it was merely an infatuation. Kaya wala rin nagtatagal sa’kin.
It’s either I was the one who cuts the commitment or they get tired of me not paying any attention to them. I kiss them once but hindi na nau-ulit.
“It’s good news na sa wakas, natamaan na rin tong kaibigan natin.”
Masayang sabi ni Stephanie. Wow parang akala mo kanina hindi nagra-rant about sa bf niya ah?
“Yes, kaya naman you should kwento na, dali!”
I
sighed when both of them started pushing me na ikwento lahat. It seems I don’t really have a choice kaya ayun.
I told them the details from when I started to get close to Alexis ngayong college na kami. Until I realized that I like her.
I noticed that doon palang sa na-guilty ako I felt that there is something na talaga.
“I just don’t know how to convince her na kausapin ako.”
I felt sad as I tell them my problem. Nahihirapan na kasi ako. Napansin ko naman na nagtinginan yung dalawa na parang alam na nila yung gagawin.
Something tells me na kalokohan ang iniisip ng dalawang ito.
“How about this, Ash.” Pabitin na tugon ni Steph bago sumenyas kay Haji. Tumingin ako kay Haji nang clueless.
“Drag her to a private place and then try mo kausapin nang masinsinan, then if she still doesn’t want to listen...”
Ngumisi si Haji bago sabihin yung last part.
“Then kiss her, for sure hindi makakareact yun.”
“Kis—kiss?!” I was shocked when Haji said that, is she out of her mind? Bakit naman ganun yung naisip niya.
“Yes, it’s a brilliant idea of mine kaya. Like hello, I’m sure she will listen to you na.”
Proud na sabi ni Haji, napansin ko naman si Steph na nag-approve pa siya sa naisip ni Haji.
I rolled my eyes, pareho talaga sila pagdating sa kalokohan eh. Pagdating talaga sa mga ganitong bagay nagiging in-sync tong dalawang to eh.
But makes sense, mukhang wala na nga akong ibang choice kundi maging straightforward kay Alexis.
“Are you sure ba that this idea will work?” I asked them, they both give me a thumbs up kaya napailing ako.
“Pag ito talaga hindi gumana, then I’ll punch you both.”
After our girl talks, I decided na umalis na. I was driving on my way home when suddenly Ate Alexa called me.
“Hello, Ate, why did you call?” I asked her.
[“Hello, Ash. Pwede ba dumaan ka muna sa shop ni Tita and then umuwi ka agad. We have a family dinner.”]
“Family dinner with?” I answered.
[“With the Smiths, Dad and Mom reminded me kanina about it.”]

ALEXIS’ POINT OF VIEWs
Dismayado akong nag-aayos ng sarili para sa family dinner with the Scotts. I tried refusing sana kanina na sumama kasi alam kong makikita ko siya, but Mama said “No!”.
Wala naman akong magagawa kasi seryoso na siya. Wala eh, no choice. Ayaw ko sana talaga sumama kasi ayaw ko siya makita.
Ilang months na rin that I’m avoiding her, alam kong napapansin niya yun pero I just don’t want to be close with her again. Baka kung ano na naman gawin niya then magiging marupok ako, edi ako na naman yung kawawa.
Mas better to focus on myself than her kasi masasaktan lang ako. She’s straight and siya na mismo nagsabi na she’s not into girls.
“Bakit ba kasi kailangan ko pa sumama?!” Pagrereklamo ko.
