C H A P T E R 40

It's the day of Jo and Ric's wedding. I'm currently getting Grace dressed for the ceremony while Nik gets Niko dressed.

"Ok Silly Girl you're all set." I say when I finish with her pig tails. I sit her down on the ground. She twirls around where her skirt flows out.

"Look at my little princess." Nik says walking in with a dressed Niko. "Go get dressed love."

"Ok." I kiss his cheek before walking into the closet and putting my navy blue floral dress and tan heals. I curl my hair and do my make up. Once I'm done getting ready i walk down to the first floor where Nik, Niko, and Grace are waiting. "Ready?"

"You look beautiful Rose." He says with a bright smile. I smile at him.

"Thank you. You look handsome as always." I say taking Grace into my arms. I bounce her slightly. She smiles brightly. "Let's go shall we?"

Nik smiles and nods. We walk out to the car and put the twins in the back seat. I climb into the passenger seat as Kol rushes out in a tux. Nik talks to him before they both climb into the car.

"You're coming Kol?" I ask him turning around in my seat.

"Yeah. I wanted to help with the twins." He says playing with Niko while Grace sleeps.

I nod my head and face the front. I take Nik's hand into mine and lace our fingers together. He brings our intertwined hands to his lips and kiss my knuckles.

When we arrive to the wedding I would be lying if I told you Elena and them were not shocked to see Kol. I give Kol a reassuring smile and pull Grace into my arms.

"Rose!" I face Elena who's waving me over. I walk over to Elena and Damon and smile.

"Hey Lena." Grace waves before laying her head down.

"Why is Kol here?" Damon whispers with a glare.

"He's here to help Nik and I with the twins. He's not gonna do anything bad Damon. He's calmed down a lot since the last time you guys saw him." I say bouncing Grace on my hip. "He's just here for Niko and Grace."

"Ok. I'm trusting you." Elena says. "I have to go help Jo."

She kisses Damon on the cheek before we separate and I follow Nik and Kol into the barn where the ceremony is gonna be held.

I sit down beside Nik who has Niko in his arms. Kol sits down on my side and plays with his fingers.

"I need to talk to you two." He says quietly. Nik and I give each other a look before turning to Kol. "I want to propose to Davina but I needed to have some sort of approval from someone. She doesn't have her parents and mine are dicks so I'm not going to them. Nik you're the closet thing I have to a father figure beside Elijah. And Rose you're my best friend I just need to know what you two think."

I look to Nik who's smiling softly. "Of course you have our blessing Kol." I say wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "Davina makes you happy Kol that's all we want for you."

He smiles at me gratefully before looking to Nik. "You have my blessing Kol. You deserve to be happy. Also since when have you ever wanted someone's approval?" Nik says.

"I want to do this right." Kol says looking into his eyes. "I want everything to be perfect. She's the love of my life I don't see what life would be like without her. We've also spoken about her turning into a vampire."

My eyes widen. "You don't need to do it Kol so she doesn't become sired to you." Nik says sternly.

"I know. I was gonna ask Rose if she would do it." Kol says facing me. I look up from Grace shocked.
