Once the princess fell out of the pod, Lance could only think, 'beautiful'.
Allura was pure elegance. Her long white hair was soft and always put together. Her tan skin complimented her almost neon blue eyes. Her clothes were always perfect. Her smile was dazzling and won over the rulers of many planets, whom turned into allies.
And so, Lance flirted with her. She would be the perfect girlfriend, looks and personality alike. She could also kick some ass too. Who wouldn't want a cool alien significant other?
Lance realized that there was much more to Allura then her drop-dead gorgeousness and easy smile. She wasn't just, well -a princess. She was a leader, a caring shoulder to lean on, and she was just as scared as the rest of them were. She had lost her family, her entire planet and race, excluding Coran. (shhh, let's not bring Lotor into this).
Lance soon felt that, while she may be attractive, he wasn't attracted to her in the way he thought. He still thinks her beauty is astonishing, and he may be a bit jealous, he loves her differently. He loves her as he does the rest of the team, like a sister, maybe even a space mom. Just not space mom as in with Shiro, but as in the familial type of relationship her and the team have. Lance realized how bad his mindset was, and that she wasn't some trophy to be won and carry around.
She was his sister in all but blood, and there wasn't anything he would do to change that.

I realized that I haven't really done anything nice to Allura..... whoops.
I don't really see them as a couple ( I know they get together, but don't really know how it progressed until ya know cause I haven't watched S.8). I feel like the relationship would've been kind off and rushed, and it was just added cause why not. She said no all those years to just randomly say 'sure!'. I don't see it. Id rather them have a sibling duo, kinda like the rest of the team?
But I wanted to be nice to Allura, even though she isn't my favorite character.
I hope my random shit makes sense.
