Dinner Chapter 24

When we sat down to eat spaghetti, I decided to start a convo.
"So, um, Emma, Don't you have a part in freakshow?" I asked, taking a bite of my garlic bread.
"Oh yeah, I get my script next week because my character will join in freakshow later in next week too." She told me, I nod.
I looked at the kids, chomping big bites of spaghetti and sucking noodles.
"Slow down or you'll get sick" I warned them, then glared in Jax's eyes.
He looked like Evan, planning something bad.
"Tai?"
"Oh yeah?" I looked at Emma.
"You good?" she mouthed at me.
"Yeah" I said.
After 30 min we finished our dinner, Emma helped me with the dishes.
"Thanks" I smiled without looking at her.
"Tai, are you sure your okay?" She got my attention.
"I'm worried about Jax." I made cookie dough into balls and placed them on the pan.
"Why?" She sat on the counter.
"He just looks like he's gonna do something like Evan" I put the cookies in the oven, then look at Emma.
"He's a fine little guy, I know he got punched, but he won't fight back, I'm pretty sure that's good" I looked at Jaxon, playing with Zoe, with his army guys, Jax looked up and smiled a little at me.
"Yeah I guess so" I looked at Emma and smiled.
"Alright kiddos, go take a bath, when you come out, cookies are ready." I command them, they got up and ran to their bathrooms.
"Well, hopefully Evan will be back in two days." I peered at Emma.
"Yeah, would you like to take a quick shot?" She changed the subject.
"Yeah" I laughed grabbing the strong liquor. I poured the liquor into the small cups, then handed Emma hers.
"Cheers to stressful life" I clink the cup and drink it fast.
"Ahh, so good" I smack my lips.
"Yeah, she laughed.
The oven beeps.
"Alright, cookies are ready" I said cheerfully. I grabbed the mitts and got the cookies out.
"Well, maybe I should go" Emma looked at me.
"You sure?" I clenched my forehead.
"Yeah be safe" she walked over, hugged me, then grabbed a cookie and her stuff, then left.
After a few minutes, Jax came out with wet hair, in his under.
"Where's Emma?" He asked me, walking to the cookies.
"She had to leave" I looked at him.
Zoe came out too.
They started eating a few cookies and it was 8 pm.
"Alright you got 30 min of free time, then bed" I warned them.
I walked up stairs, grabbed my phone and called Evan.
"Hello?"
"Hey Ev"
"Hey, how was the kids day?"
"Jax got beaten up by a kid at school"
"What the hell, did he do something?"
"Not really"
"Well what are you gonna do?"
"I'm gonna go to the school tomorrow and talk"
"Good idea"
"Well?"
"I'm gonna be home tomorrow night hopefully be home by dinner"
"Okay, we'll see you tomorrow, I love you"
"Love you to babe and good night"
I hung up.
I walked down stairs and plop into the couch with Zoe.
"You okay?" She asked me.
"Yeah I'm fine" I smiled alittle.
I brushed my fingers through my hair.
"Well, I guess it's bed time" I looked into her beautiful eyes.
"Come on, few minutes" she whined.
"Come on, you need energy for tomorrow" I laughed and pick her up on back and walked to her room, then placed her into her bed.
"You better fall a sleep not come out and wander around" I warned her then walk out turning the lights off. I walked into Jaxon's room and noticed he is already in bed.
I sat next to him.
"What if I told the bully that I have a famous family" he looked at me.
"No, that would make it worse" I rubbed his hair.
"Come on" he groaned.
"I'm coming with you to school tomorrow" I smiled.
"Alright, good night" he turned over on his side to sleep.
"Night" I kissed the back of his head, then walk out turning off the lights.
I walked up stairs and fall into the bed.
I took a deep breath, then got up and took off my pants, then right back into the bed, fell asleep.
