chapter two

"well isn't that lovely," chloe cheerfully clapped, "i have a soulmate!"

"and if you don't come into contact with your soulmate in the next 24 hours, you'll be at a risk of dying. doesn't sound so lovely does it?" jaehyung asked.

ava scrunched her face up and mumbled, "well if you put it like that, it doesn't seem lovely at all."

"exactly," her manager sighed, "what are we going to do now?"

"well there's nothing we can do. i'll just have to proceed with my schedule and see what happens. now i have an interview tomorrow, so i'll be going to sleep now. goodnight manager jaehyung. get home safely!"

it was the next morning and chloe was on her way to her scheduled interview.

"i was told that you'll be doing a collaboration stage with another artist soon. i believe it's right after your promotions for this album are over," jaehyung announced.

"really?" chloe asked excitedly, "do you know which company they're from."

"i believe he is under bighit. i'm not sure. i'll check it again."

"ah it's a male?"

"yes," jaehyung replied, "which means you'll need to be extra careful. some fans tend to go the extra mile and overthink situations, so they may create dating rumors."

"right ..." chloe sighed.

the van pulled into the parking lot of the building where chloe's interview would be taking place. immediately after the doors to the van opened, cameras began clicking and people began screaming questions.

"how does it feel to be going in for your first interview?"

"are you close to k?"

"what do you know about k?"

"is this your first time meeting k?"

chloe managed to get past all the cameras and reporters safely with the help of her manager and the guards. walking to the dressing room, she turned to her manager and asked, "what or who is k? why were they asking me about it?"

"k!" jaehyung exclaimed, "that's the name of the person you'll be doing a collaboration stage with."

"it's already publicly announced that we are going to perform together?"

"i didn't think it was."

"then how do they know about it?" chloe asked.

"i'm unsure. why don't you go get ready and i'll go see what that is all about," jaehyung replied, leaving chloe in the dressing room with the stylists and makeup artists.

chloe sat down in the chair, while her hair and makeup were being done when suddenly, she became very light headed.

"can someone go find manager jaehyung please?" chloe asked quietly, holding onto her head.

"yes of course. are you okay? you look very pale."

"i-i'm fine. i just need manager jaehyung here."

in an instant, jaehyung entered the dressing room with water for chloe.

"it's your soulmate," jaehyung whispered, not wanting anyone to hear, "you need to be in contact with him pronto or else these symptoms will just get worse."

"how do i know if i've come into contact with him or not?" chloe asked.

"pay attention to his wrist, if his tattoo matches yours, it's him. for now, you'll have to try your best to get through the interview and i'll see if i can cancel your schedule for today," jaehyung answered.

"i've found out that k will be the one to interview you, so this is like an idol to idol interview," he added, receiving a nod.

"chloe," k smiled, putting his hand out, "nice to meet you."

ava shook his hand and smiled, "it's nice to meet you too."

the male looked very familiar to chloe, but she just couldn't put her finger on where she's seen him. he was very tall and attractive, but what attracted chloe the most was his voice and smile.

as soon as she let go of his hand, chloe suddenly got a burst of energy and immediately felt better. she let that thought slide and the interview began.

k turned out to be a very friendly person and chloe found it very easy to talk to him as they got along quite well.

throughout the interview, chloe noticed a dark area on k's wrist, but didn't pay too much attention to it because the sleeve of his shirt covered it.

however, once he lifted his arm up, the sleeve pulled back to reveal a tattoo, one that matched chloe's.

k was chloe's soulmate.
