chapter three

the interview came to an end and food had arrived, so everyone began eating. however, chloe needed to tell her manager the news as soon as possible.

"manager jae," chloe called out, gesturing for him to walk over to the secluded corner with her.

"it's k," she stated.

"what's k?" jaehyung asked in confusion.

"k is my soulmate."

jaehyung froze for a while before bursting into laughter, "you're not serious right?"

chloe kept a straight face and replied, "but i am serious."

"that's right!" she gasped, "he is the male that i saw yesterday. we both went to grab the last ice cream and our hands ended up touching. no wonder why he looked so familiar."

"did you see his tattoo?"

chloe nodded, "it's exactly the same as mine."

"what do we do now? do you think he figured it out as well?"

"i don't know .. i don't think so. if he did, i feel like he would have reacted and said something about it," chloe answered.

"so do we act like you and k aren't soulmates?"

"i guess .." chloe mumbled, "what people don't know, won't hurt them."

"chloe, manager jaehyung, please do go eat," k smiled.

"yes yes of course," jaehyung replied, "you two go ahead first."

"chloe, am i still canceling your schedule for today?" jaehyung asked.

"i uh .. no, there's no need for that. i think i can manage the rest of the day. it's okay, please go get food. you've been working very hard," chloe smiled.

jaehyung ended up being called by one of the staff members, so k and chloe were left alone to walk together to get food.

"are you sick?" k asked, "i assume you aren't feeling well if you were going to cancel your schedule."

"a-ah .. yes. i was feeling a little light headed," she replied.

k turned his head and looked down at chloe with a worried expression, "do you need some medicine? i have some in the dressing room."

"no no. there's no need for that, but thank you. i feel much better now," chloe assured.

"that's good to hear."

there was a slight bit of awkwardness between the two as their conversation came to an end, but chloe jumped in excitement, making k turn his attention on her.

"i received news that you and i would be doing a collaboration stage," chloe smiled.

"really?" k asked, "i heard about it, but i didn't know it would be with you. at least we've already met."

she nodded, "i believe it'll be after my debuting promotions are over."

"ah .. speaking of which, are you excited?"

"i am more than excited," chloe replied, "a little nervous, but very excited."

"don't be nervous," k smiled, "i'm confident that you'll do fine. i'm also confident that everyone will love you."

"how so?" chloe asked with a smile.

"because you've been training for eight years right?"

"right," chloe nodded.

"i'm sure you're more than talented. you're also very polite and friendly .. and that's just from me being able to interview you in that one hour," k smiled.

"well i'm flattered to hear that," chloe smiled, sitting with k at a table.

"and you're also pretty," k complimented before putting food in his mouth.

chloe immediately froze and began feeling flustered.

"n-no," chloe shyly chuckled, "thank you for the compliment but-"

"but?" k asked, "how can there be a but? you are very pretty."

"w-well thank you," she mumbled.

"therefore i feel like you'll do perfectly fine with your debut," k smiled, "i mean not just because you're pretty, but- you get the memo right?"

"i do. thank you," chloe laughed, "so .. what is it like debuting as a leader?"

"it's not so bad actually. sure it's quite a role, but i love the boys and would do anything for them. after all, we're a family."

chloe set her fork down and placed her elbows on the table, intertwining her hands together.

"it must be nice to have that feeling of love and support from your members huh?" chloe asked.

"it is," k nodded, "did you originally plan on debuting as a soloist?"

chloe shrugged, "i never really thought about debuting as a soloist or group. i really only focused on debuting and here i am."

"well then let me tell you congratulations on your debut now, since i won't be able to tell you the day of your debut stage," k smiled, "you'll do fine."
