chapter eighteen

chloe went into her room to pack some belongings for the time being, coming out to find k asleep on the sofa.

he was in a sitting posture, but his head was resting back. chloe set her bags down and quietly walked over to him. she didn't want to wake him up just yet, knowing that he must be tired after all the practice.

she softly put her arm around his neck to support his head and turn his body so that he could lay on the sofa. however, her gentleness didn't work how she wanted it to and ended up waking k.

her arm was still around his neck, causing their faces to be extremely close.

chloe slightly gasped, "i'm sorry. i didn't mean to wake you."

"i was trying to adjust your body so that your neck wouldn't hurt when you wake up and it looked slightly uncomforta-"

chloe was cut off at the touch of lips being placed on hers, immediately making her freeze.

did k just kiss-

"it was the only way i could get you to stop blabbering," k chuckled.

"h-hey!" chloe called up, pulling away from k and standing up, "you could've said my name or something. there are a million other things you could've done to stop me from talking."

"you know, you're really cute when you blush," k smiled, getting ready to stand up.

before k could stand up, chloe put both her hands out to stop him, "no! y-you stay right there."

"i was getting up, so we can leave, but i guess we'll stay here and let the men come and bother you again," k spoke.

"n-no no. let's go. please," chloe quickly stated, fear beginning to build up again.

she pulled k up by the hand and ran to grab her bags before walking over to the door, "let's go right now. please?"

k let out a sigh of amusement and grabbed his keys before walking over to the door.

the two stayed silent for most of the ride, filling the car with comfortable silence.

"ah why'd you do that!" chloe suddenly exclaimed, "why'd you kiss me? why?"

k flinched at chloe's sudden outburst and turned to look at her.

"hey- keep your eyes on the road. don't look at me," chloe stated, becoming flustered by k's stare.

"you make it hard for me not to," k replied, turning off the engine.

chloe immediately unbuckled her seatbelt and gathered her things before hurriedly walking away.

"do you even know where you're going?" k called out.

"of course i know where i'm going," chloe huffed.

k continued to walk behind chloe, finding everything amusing. minutes later, he watched as chloe came to a stop and turned around to face him.

"i don't know where i'm going," she mumbled.

"of course i know where i'm going," k mocked with a smile, shaking his head while taking chloe's bags and leading the way.

after minutes of childish bickering between the two, they arrived at the dorms, but before k could unlock the door, it was already opened.

"oh- you're back!" heeseung smiled.

"were you about to go somewhere?" k asked.

"yes, i have to go run and grab some things to make food," heeseung replied.

"this late?" chloe questioned.

"yes," heeseung chuckled, stepping aside for the two to come in.

"oh? who's bags are those?" he asked.

"that's what i actually have to talk to you guys about. come, sit," k spoke as jake and sunghoon appeared too.

"there's been a situation that occurred at chloe's place and i told her manager that she's always welcomed here, so she'll be staying with us until she gets a new place," k explained.

"but i'll only stay here if you three are okay with it," chloe added.

"of course we're okay with it, but the company-"

"chloe's manager spoke to people from both companies and got permission for her," k explained.

jake, sunghoon, and heeseung exchanged glances before heeseung smiled, "well then welcome home."

"but where will she be staying?" jake asked.

"uh .." k turned and made eye contact with chloe.

"are you okay with staying in my room?" he softly asked, "i'll sleep in the living room."

"what? no no. you stay in your room. i can sleep in the living room. it's fine," chloe replied.

"i'll take the living room. you're sleeping in my room," k stated, getting up to bring chloe's belongings in his room.

"wait but-"

"and he's already gone," chloe sighed, making the other three boys laugh.

"well let's talk about your food situation. have you seriously not eaten yet?" chloe asked, receiving shaking heads.

"well then aren't you just lucky," chloe smiled, "i'll cook something up for you all. there's no need to go grocery shopping this late. it's too dangerous."

"really?" sunghoon asked, his face brightening up.

chloe hummed with a nod, "just give me about 25 minutes yeah?"
