"i hope you weren't expecting much," k spoke up as the two sat down at a table.

"i .. actually wasn't," chloe smiled.

"you don't sound too sure about your answer," k laughed.

"no no i am," chloe denied, "this is actually perfect."

the two broke into a conversation about their collaboration, while eating their noodles outside of a convenience store.

yes, a convenience store. it may not seem like much, but it was the perfect lunch spot for the two. they weren't surrounded by people, but when they were, they'd just turn their heads until the people walked away.

the last thing they needed right now was for a rumor to spread, but as far as they were concerned, a one on one conversation was all they cared about.

"you know, i was wondering how you write your lyrics. like where do you get your inspiration from? they're so meaningful and- they're just overall amazing," k stated.

chloe smiled to herself and placed her eating utensils down, "that's a .. really good question, but i really don't know. i just think about a topic that is really important to me and go from there."

"i feel like i could really learn a lot from you," k admitted.

"are you serious?" chloe chuckled, "you're the one i could learn a lot from. you're a really powerful dancer and your voice?"

chloe leaned in closer and looked around before continuing her words, "unbelievable."

"really funny," k laughed.

"and i'm really serious about what i said," she smiled.

"well then aren't we lucky to be doing a collaboration stage together."

chloe and k wrapped up their lunch and were walking near han river to enjoy the scenery, while they continued their conversation.

because it was the winter time, it was slightly chilly, but the two managed to stay warm under the layers of clothing they had.

"so .. are you ready to talk about earlier?" k asked, giving chloe his full attention.

chloe hesitantly turned to face k and replied, "i'm not sure if i know what you're talking about."

"oh i think you know exactly what i'm talking about," k chuckled, "but- if you don't want to tell me, i'm not going to force it out of you."

chloe smiled at k in admiration.

"i really don't know how you do it," she whispered.

"do what?"

"i don't know .. you're so patient and understanding. you know when something is wrong and it's like you always know what to say in every situation. even if you don't directly say it, it's so clear that you always want to be there for everyone," chloe replied, looking at k seriously.

"you're right, but not everyone gets treated this way. you're an exception," k joked, making chloe let out a giggle.

"i guess i get it from being the person my members go to for advice. they're like my little brothers and i think i've made it very clear to them that they can come to me and rely on me whenever something is wrong. i don't really know," k shrugged.

"it's just how you are?" chloe asked quietly.

"i guess so," k replied in the same quiet tone.

chloe and k continued their way back to the company in silence, a very calm, comfortable silence. after the conversation the two previously had, there couldn't possibly be any tension left in between them.

the two felt comfortable with each other already, which is great for their collaboration stage. the chemistry during the stage would be more than visible.

"so i'll let you go back to your busy schedule now," k said as the two stood in front of chloe's company.

chloe smiled and nodded, turning to face k, "thank you for treating me to lunch. i really needed someone i could talk to. it was also really nice to get to know you better, really."

"no need to thank me. we're friends now, right?"

"definitely," chloe replied.

"do you mind handing me your phone for a second?" k asked.

"yes, of course," chloe answered, handing k her phone, thinking that he was going to call his manager.

"and .. here you go," k smiled, handing the phone back, "i know you weren't ready to talk about what's going on, but when you are, feel free to text or call me."

"or don't. you don't have to, but if you want to .." k added.

chloe let out a slight laugh and nodded, "got it. thank you again."

k hummed in response before turning around to leave, but then stopped and faced chloe again.

"also," k began, "something in me is telling me that the hateful feedback you may be getting is affecting you. don't let it get to you okay?"

"okay," chloe nodded.

"let's promise on that?" k asked.

"promise."

"pinky promise?" k asked once again.

"you're unbelievable," chloe playfully scoffed.

"i've heard that before," k smiled.

despite finding k's childish worries slightly adorable, chloe gave into the pinky promise and linked her pinky with k's.

"i know it's hard right now. it's going to be like that in the beginning, but everyone will get to love you even more. i'm sure of it."
