chapter twenty

chloe opened her eyes due to the bright sunshine peeking in through the window, but noticed that she was in k's bedroom.

according to her memory from the night before, she slept on the sofa in the living room because she didn't want to wake k up.

confused, she left the room and found k sitting on the sofa with a mug in his hand.

"good morning," k smiled.

"morning," chloe smiled back, yawning afterwards.

"hey .. didn't you sleep in the room yesterday?" she asked.

k hummed, "but then i woke up in the middle of the night and saw you sleeping on the sofa, so i carried you into the room."

"y-you carried me into the room? yah- why didn't you just sleep in the room for the night," chloe complained.

"because i want you to be comfortable," k replied, fixing his attention on the tv.

"but i was comfortable," chloe whined, "if i wasn't comfortable, i would've been awake throughout the night."

"i'm glad i carried you in the room because it made me notice that you are very light," k spoke, "which means you need to eat more."

"y- why are you changing the topic?" she continued to whine.

"why are you acting like a baby?" k chuckled.

chloe gasped and folded her arms, "i am not acting like a baby."

"you are very much acting like a baby," k smiled, ruffling chloe's hair before walking into the kitchen.

"do you want coffee or tea?" he asked.

"k-ah," chloe whined, "i'm not acting like a baby."

"okay okay. you're not acting like a baby," k laughed, "but are you usually cranky in the morning?"

chloe shot k a death glare and replied, "no comment. can i please have tea?"

k hummed, "jasmine or chrysanthemum?"

"you have chrysanthemum?" chloe gasped, "chrysanthemum please."

"are heeseung and sunghoon still asleep?" chloe asked.

"yea, but i'll have to wake them up soon so we can head to music bank," k replied.

the seven boys and chloe arrived at music bank, but they made sure to enter in a secluded area so there would be no rumors about chloe and the boys.

the boys were scheduled to perform first, followed by chloe and k's special stage, so she was able to monitor the boys' stage while getting her hair and makeup done.

this was the first time she would be seeing the boys on stage, so she was more than excited. she would let out shocking reactions here and there, clapping enthusiastically when the performance ended.

her dressing room was right across from the boys, so she gave them a visit.

"you all did so well," chloe complimented, "that was quite a show."

"we looked handsome, didn't we?" jay smiled.

"definitely," chloe nodded, "all of you did."

"you ready for your special stage?" heeseung asked.

"i'm a little nervous, but i'm excited to perform with k," she replied.

"you look very pretty," k whispered in chloe's ear, suddenly appearing, but then leaving after.

"aye what was that about?" sunghoon asked teasingly, wriggling his eyebrows.

coming to the rescue, the boys' manager appeared and told chloe that jaehyung was looking for her, so she quickly bid the boys goodbye.

"ready?" k asked as the two were about to step onstage.

"ready," chloe nodded, shaking out all the nervousness.

"you're going to do amazing," k assured, pulling chloe into a hug.

chloe smiled into his chest and wrapped her arms around him too.

"just do what you practiced and the performance will be great," k stated.

"you always know what to say," chloe smiled, leaning her head back to look at k.

"because you bring out the best in me," k flirtatious replied.

"tch," chloe scoffed, leaning back into the hug, feeling k place a soft kiss on the top of her head, "i know."

the music bank staff called for cue, so the two walked onstage together as fans began to cheer.

the music began and so did the performance. chloe and k did exactly what they practiced, coming face to face for the ending, while the mistletoe fell above them.

although the fans were chanting for a kiss, no kiss happened because it would stir up so many rumors.

they exited the stage, receiving many compliments from staff.

"oh that was amazing!" k exclaimed as chloe jumped into k's arms.

he spun her around as she began squealing with the staff around them, adoring the sight.

"i couldn't have wanted to do it with anyone else," chloe smiled.

"you know .. you can't avoid the mistletoe's rules. i believe you owe me something," k spoke.

knowing exactly what he was talking about, chloe stood on her tippy toes and planted a soft kiss on k's lips before running away into her dressing room.
