chapter fifteen

the recording session wrapped up on a rather interesting note. the producer had recognized the sudden awkward tension between chloe and k, so he cut the session short.

"good work you two," the producer acknowledged with a smile before leaving the room.

k cleared his throat, "i-i'm going to head into practice with the boys okay?"

"uh yea .. you go do that. go practice," chloe replied, "i think i should leave and head back to my company too."

"o-okay, yea," k nodded, "i'll see you tomorrow."

"tomorrow?" chloe questioned.

"we have rehearsals .."

"oh! that's right," chloe face palmed, "sorry, my mind went blank."

"it's fine," k chuckled, "i'll head out first then."

chloe watched as k left the recording studio and let out a sigh once the door shut.

"that was something," she mumbled to herself.

"stop chloe. why are you blushing? stop," she told herself while fanning her face.

"have you already met up with the producer to record the track?" jaehyung asked as the two were sitting in a meeting room.

"yes," chloe nodded, "i just came from it."

"and you two have the choreography set?" he asked.

"yes. i think there's just some minor things we have to perfect, but we have the choreography down."

"okay, well then onto the next topic," jaehyung began, "iland's new youtube video came out."

chloe scrunched her face in confusion and cocked her head to the side, "what about it?"

"you were in it. it was k's daily vlog or something and you were in it."

"oh yea," chloe smiled, "they kept that part in?"

jaehyung nodded and slid the ipad over to chloe. the video was pulled up with the comment section below it.

"they think you and k are dating," jaehyung stated, making chloe choke on air.

"how could they possibly say we're dating when all we did was have friendly small talk? that's outrageous," chloe scoffed.

"fans are very observant, which brings me to my next topic. a fan site supposedly saw you and k together at multiple places," jaehyung explained.

"but you knew if i went somewhere with k. i would ask your for permission every single time," chloe defended.

"i know you did, chloe. and i'm not blaming anything on you. the pictures were from a far distance, so you could only see your back, but fans are assuming it's you."

"how do they even know it's k? it could be anyone."

"the tattoo. fans have spotted k's tattoo."

chloe parted her lips and let out a sigh, "i forgot about the tattoo."

"so does that mean i have to hide the fact that k's my soulmate for the rest of my life?" chloe asked, disappointed.

jaehyung shrugged, "i don't know how the public is going to take it, but it would be safer to stay on the low about it."

"chloe, you knew what you were getting yourself into when you signed the contract. this is how it is," jaehyung spoke softly.

"i know," chloe sighed.

"and you're like a little sister to me. i'm your manager and although i work under the company, i won't tell anyone about your personal relationships, especially what you have with k because you're soulmates and nothing can change that."

chloe smiled, "i am so thankful for you."

jaehyung chuckled at chloe's words, "but what you do have to be careful about is your behavior in public. there's fan sites everywhere."

"are you hiding something from me, chloe?" jaehyung asked, "you're acting strangely different."

"i-i'm fine. what do you mean?" chloe asked, letting out a nervous chuckle.

"what is it?" jaehyung sighed, "tell me."

chloe let out a sigh, knowing she wouldn't be getting away with it.

"k and i have been having our moments and i haven't really been putting too much thought into it, but earlier .." chloe paused and looked down at her hands, "it hit me and it felt weird."

"what?" jaehyung asked.

"i think my feelings for k are beginning to grow."
