school day (part 1)

Phillips pov

    I waved goodbye to Theo and my sister and headed off to my math class. I sat down at my desk in the middle row closest to the chalkboard, the room was filled with inspirational quotes such as, never give up, mistakes are part of life and so on. The room was also quite colorful. Mrs. Mulligan stood up from her desk and started drawing today's lesson on the whiteboard. Mrs. Mulligan had always been one of my favorite teachers she was always so sweet and was a very helpful teacher.  I meet her when I was still very young since her husband was one of my dad's best friends.

Mr. Hamilton do you know the answer to number 5? Mrs. Mulligan asked me. I snapped out of my thoughts and franticly tried to figure out the answer. "Ummm." I said stuttering. "85 ma'am!" I said after I quick minute of thinking. "That's correct Phillip good job, but please try to focus." She said with a smile. I felt a wave of relief flow through his body. He made sure to focus for the rest of class.

The bell rang for lunch after several more boring classes. I quickly grabbed my bag and headed to lunch well their I grabbed a tray and headed to the nearest lunch lady. She was giving out pizza to the students as I walked closer she looked over at me and gave a nice big smile in my direction.

"Hi can I have a slice of pizza please?" I asked. "Yes, you can pepperoni or cheese?" She said her voice was soft and comforting kinda like my mother's. "Pepperoni!" I responded. "Ok here you go and would you like a carton of milk with that?" She asked as she handed me a slice pepperoni pizza. "No thanks I have my water bottle." I tell her as a pull a grey metal water bottle out of one of my backpacks side pockets. "Ok have a great day!" She says with a big smile. I smile and say "You too!" As I walk toward the table Theo is sitting at.

Even though I'm the most popular guy in school and a football star I don't sit with the other football guys their just not as interesting as Theo. Theo sat their looking so beautiful her crystal blue eyes sparkled from the cafeteria lights shining on them, they looked like the ocean. She smiled at me then said

"Hey Phillip how was class." "Good I say, I got called on in math and I wasn't paying attention but luckily I was able to figure out the correct answer in time." She smiled at me then says "of course you figured it out your really smart." "Yeah but your smarter, your essay are flawless and you get straight A's." I tell her as I take a bite of my pizza. She  smiled at me then said "your the sweetest." Then gave me a little wink. "How was class for you?" I ask. "Well I got a A on my essay!" "Thats amazing!" Theo and me sat their in silence for a couple minutes well eating, she of course brought lunch because her dad doesn't like how processed cafeteria food is scared she'll die of a complication or something because of it.

I've always thought of Theo as just a friend but over the years as we grew closer I started to think of her as more then that. I don't know if she'd ever actual wanna be with me but that little wink gave me hope that there was a chance for us. I didn't want to ruin are friendship by asking her out but I also don't want to just be her best friends brother for my whole life. The spring dance was coming up so I could ask her then but what if she said no or another guy asked her out and she decided to go with him instead of me. Just then the bell rings and we have to pack up and head to our next classes. I give her a little wave goodbye and she waves back and then we head are separate ways.

After school I text Theo and we study some math homework, we both have a huge test coming up that's worth 30% of are grade so it's a big deal. After studying with Theo for a couple hours I help my mom make supper. My dad used to help with supper but now a days he's to busy with work. I ask Angie to set the table as me and mom start to serve up the food. Will sits at the table bouncing up and down in his seat licking his lips. I ruffle his hair then give him some mashed up potatoes and carrots, Will's to young to eat solid foods so we have to mash them up. After dinner me and Angie do the dishes then I head upstairs and take a shower. The warm water on my back feels so nice after a long school day. Once I'm done I get on my pyjamas pants and get ready for bed.
