Angie's secret (part 2)

Theo's pov

I woke up and quickly got ready, I noticed my dad was fast asleep still. I went downstairs to pack my lunch and I noticed a sticky note was stuck on top, it read

Dear Theo,

I can't drive you to school today I was up way to late working your gonna have to walk, I hope it isn't a big deal.
Love you, A. Burr

I finished packing my lunch and grabbed my back pack before heading out the door, the sun was bright and it was quite hot but I kept walking. After a couple minutes of walking I noticed I was slowing down, I looked at my watch and noticed I only had twenty minutes to get there. I tried to ignore my pure exhaustion and aching legs as I speed up my pace. I finally arrived at the school I immediately noticed Phillip looking freaked out. "Hey Phillip." I told him. "Oh hi Theo." He said still freaked and maybe a little startled. "You good Phillip you seem off." I asked him. "I'm fine you just startled me." He told me looking over his shoulder. As we walked towards the school I couldn't stop worrying what was he hiding from me. "Why do you keep looking over your shoulder, are you hiding something from me?" I asked as I tried to shake off my nerves.
"It's just Angie she said she was meeting up with a friend, but she doesn't have many friends." He told me he seemed as worried as me just worried about another thing. "That's odd." I replied, I knew that Angie didn't normally run off. "I know I just hope she isn't getting in trouble." Phillip told her as the bell rang.

The day was just like ever other school day, a lot of note taking and answering useless questions. I wanted to work in Congress just like my dad maybe I could be a lawyer, my dad was a amazing lawyer and I'm sure he'd be proud of me if I became a lawyer. I walked out onto the football field as I thought about becoming a amazing lawyer, and helping serve justice. I meet up with Phillip I took my collage application out of my backpack, I noticed Phillip held his in his hand. After a couple minutes of walking we approached a blue and red mailbox we placed our letters in the little slot in the slot, I hoped we would both get in. "Wanna go back to my house theo?" He asked me after he placed his letter in the slot. "Sure but what would we do there?" I replied. "We could hang out with my siblings." Phillip proposed. "That's sounds fun let's go." I told him as we began the journey to his house.

We arrived at Phillips house and went inside, to young kids ran up to us it was Will and Alexander jr they were so cute. "Where's Angie Phillip?" Eliza asked us as she ran into the front entry way, she seemed scared I'd never seen her like this. "She's not with us, I haven't seen her since this morning." Phillip replied he seemed scared now too. "Oh God where's my baby girl." His mom said now completely freaking. Thats when phillips dad ran in "was she with them." He asked with a look of pure terror in his eyes. "No" Eliza told him, I stood there shocked and confused why would Angie run off. "Phillip, Theo watch the kids were going looking for her." They told us I helped Phillip lead the kids to the playroom, luckily the kids where to young to understand what was going on. We tried to distract the kids to the best of our abilities Alexander Jr asked me "Where's Angie?" I didn't think Phillip noticed. I whispered in his ear "she's just put she'll be back soon." As he went back to playing I was glad he believed me even though I didn't know if she'd ever come back. After a couple hours of playing with Phillips siblings we heard the door open, I noticed Phillip get up I was about to follow him but someone had to stay with the kids. I sat there surrounded by Hamilton kids, man there were a lot of kids. I watched as they ran around the room carefree and happy. I remembered my childhood, I missed being that happy kid. I remembered my mom, that's when that memory hit me I pushed it away immediately. I couldn't break down crying in front of Phillips siblings. I heard the door open again, I could hear talking coming from upstairs but I couldn't make out what they were saying. I heard footsteps and realized they where coming down stairs, I walked out as I scooped up Will and placed him on my shoulder.

"What happened Phillip?" I asked I saw Angie behind him next to a girl I didn't recognize, Angie looked like she'd been crying. "She was just out with her girlfriend she's alright, nothing bad happened." Phillip told me his smile was gentle and kind. Wait girlfriend I thought that's when I realized my besties a lesbian. "Aww I'm so proud of her, finding love." I told Phillip, he seemed happy I accepted her and of coarse I do shes my best friend. "Theodowsia is fun." Will said as he looked up at Phillip. I laughed Will always tried to say my full name, he always messed it up but it was so cute. "Well it seems like Will likes you." Phillip told me as he placed Will on the couch. "Dinners ready!" Eliza called from the kitchen, Phillip helped me lead the kids to the kitchen.

I sat down and ate with Phillip I looked up and saw a girl with dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes looking at Angie. They where looking at each other the way me and Phillip looked at each other, they where so in love. I looked at Phillip and then slightly glanced at them, he looked at them and smiled. "Young love, is so cute." I whispered in his ear. As we sat there and ate dinner, I kept looking at Angie and her lover they where so happy It made me realize how much I missed hanging out with Angie. After dinner Phillip walked me home, as we walked I felt the cold patter of rain hitting my back I shivered. I felt a warm jacket wrap around my shoulders, Phillip had given me his he seemed cold now. "Thanks Phillip." I told him as I placed my arm in the sleeve. Once we got to my house I kissed him on his cheek and then headed inside, my dad immediately hugged me.

"Hi dad." I said as he hugged me even tighter. "Hi Theo." He replied "i've missed you." My dad told me. "It's only been one day dad." I told him. "It's just I get lonely, your all I got." He told me as he let go and smiled, even though I could see the tears in his eyes. "Dad, I know your lonely but you'll always have me." I was nearly crying now too the memory of my mom on her death bed was back, I tried my best to push it away but it wasn't working. I collapsed to the floor and broke down my dad wrapped his arm around me. "Theo what's wrong?" He asked me frantically. "I, I miss mom." I said through my tears. "Aww sweetie I miss her too." My father said he was crying now too. "Everyone else's mom is gonna see them graduate and get married, I don't get that." I was sobbing now I didn't realize how jealous I was of Phillips relationship with his mom. "I wish she was still her, I know she'd be proud of you." He said as he tried to comfort me. "Why'd she have to die." I told him, my mom layed there dead in the hospital bed in my mind the smell of medicine and death flooded my senses. "Theo I don't know, sometimes the world is a cruel place." He said as he stroked my head I layed my head on his shoulder, after tons of sobbing I felt myself start to drift off to sleep.
