trouble on the last day (part 2)

Phillips pov

    I woke up and quickly got ready, today was technically are last day of school, but we were just gonna have a assembly where we all got to open are collage application letters. I raced down the stairs my mom was helping my brothers get their shoes on, "quick Phillip get in the car or where gonna be late." She told me, I walked outside and hopped in the backseat Angie was already in the car. Once all the kids where buckled we drove off, I sat there tapping my foot today was the day. I was either gonna spend the next four years with the love of my life, or have to go to collage without her. I don't think I could handle that Theo meant the world to me, she was my gravity without her I'd float away into the abyss. We pulled into the school my heart was pounding I tried taking deep breaths but it wasn't working. Theo and me sat down in the front row our families by our side, we sat there while our principal gave a speech about growing up and how this is a big step in our lives. After he finished his boring speech me and Theo got our letters, I watched as she excitedly grabbed hers. We rushed to open them my heart was exploding I looked at her she seemed nervous as well. I finally got my letter open I scanned the letter and that's when I found it, I got into kings my dad was gonna be so proud. "I got into KINGS!" I told Theo. "Me too!" She replied, next thing I know I was hugging her. "Were gonna go to collage together." I said enthusiasticly. "First we spend collage together then eternity." Theo told me as she grabbed my hand. "What do you mean Theo by eternity, are you saying you wanna get married." I told her playfully. She seemed embarrassed and nervous to say anything I noticed she glanced back to her dad. "Cause if so I'm in, cause your the love of my life." I say as I pushed one of her dark curls behind her ear. "That's exactly what I meant Phillip." Theo told me as she ruffled my hair.

Our parents walked up to us "So kids did you get in?" My mom asked me and Theo, I watched my dad shift his stance and   Theo's dad looked at Theo lovingly like no matter what happened he loved her. I looked at Theo she nodded back "We got into kings!" We said in perfect unison. My dad hugged me and told me, "I'm so proud of you Phillip, I knew you would blow us all away." My dad was hugging me he hadn't done that in years.  I looked over and saw Theo and her dad where hugging too he smiled at her, he looked so proud of her and he should be Theo was the smartest person I knew. "Hey kids why don't you go talk to some classmates see if there going to kings too." My father told us. We decide to see what collage Sarah got in we walked around scanning the room as went but there was no sign of her. "Lets check outside." Theo said as she pulled me outside into the sun.

We we both stood there in shock Eacker had Sarah pushed up against our schools brick wall. "You can't break up with me." Eacker said angrily I could see tears in Sarah's eyes. "I can't do this anymore Eacker, I told you if you hurt me one more time where done" Sarah tried to explain to him her voice was shaky I could see the fear in her face. "Sarah what did I tell you, you can never leave me." I watched as Eacker was about to punch Sarah in the face her eyes went wide with terror. I raced at him full speed and knocked him onto the concrete, he was punching and kicking me. I pushed him down and pinned him to the floor "You ever go near her ever again and I'll break your NECK!" I told him as I placed all my weight on him, I noticed people walking outside to see what all the commotion was about but I tried to ignore them. My father ran toward me and pulled me off of him, "Phillip what the hell!" My dad yelled in my face. "Theo stepped in before I could talk Sarah right beside her. "Mr. Hamilton, George Eacker had been abusing Sarah he got in a conflict with her but Phillip stepped in before he hit her in the face. Theo explained completely calm. "Is this true Sarah, has Eacker been hurting you?" My father calmly asked Sarah as he placed his arm on his shoulder. Sarah stood there crying and shaking I realized she most be extremely traumatized from being abused. "It's ok you can tell me Sarah, I just want to help." My father told her. "It's true, we got together 6 months ago and ever since then if I made a mistake her hit me." Sarah explained my mother wrapped her arms around her, "Come her Sarah it's all gonna be ok." My mom told her stroking her head. I looked back where Eacker had laid he was gone, I looked up to see Eacker in Aaron Burr's arms. Burr was death staring him as he gripped onto Eacker's shoulder, Eacker looked scared I'm glad he deserved it.

Eacker's dad showed up a hour later, my dad explained the situation to him we watched as Eacker's dad yanked him into a old red pickup truck we could see him yelling at him. We all went back to my house it turns out Sarah got in kings too, we comforted Sarah as we drove home. Once there Angie, Theo and Sarah went upstairs I stayed downstairs with my siblings. As I sat there on the couch I pondered about my future with Theo, her dad kinda liked me but I doubted he would give me his blessing. I imagined us together dancing on our wedding night, I'd do anything for her cause she's the love of my life. Once it was dinner time all the girls came downstairs I noticed Sarah's hair was slightly wet and she was wearing one of Angie's sweaters. We all ate dinner together and then I walked Sarah and Theo home they lived only a couple houses away from each other so it wasn't to much trouble. Once I got back to my house I took a seat in a brown spinning chair in my dad's office.

"Phillip what are you doing In my office?" My father asked me as he sat his papers down  on his desk. "Dad can I ask you something?" I asked as I spun around in the chair time seemed to slow as I spinned  the office became a blur kinda like I was in a hurricane. "Sure what is it my boy." He told me as he placed his glasses on his nose and took a seat at his desk. "Were you nervous when you asked mom to marry you?" I asked him. "Well of coarse I was son, wait are you gonna ask Theo to marry you?" My father said. "Yes dad Theo's the love of my life and I wanna spend the rest of my time on earth with her." I explained to my father. "Ok son I'll help you, when do you want to ask her?" My dad asked me, I thought it over for a second and the said "her birthday June 21." "Ok so your gonna have to ask burr for his blessing then get a ring, then we can focus on making the proposal magical." My dad explained to me. "Sounds like a plan." I told him now. "It's getting late Phillip you better get to bed if you want to get this done in the next two weeks for Theo's birthday." My father advised me I went upstairs and quickly got changed.

I heard a knock on my door, "Come in." I said. Angie walked in and sat down next to me on my bed. "Phillip." She said. "Yes Angie." I told her. "I just want to say I'm sorry for not telling you early, I know we tell each other everything." Angie said as she twirled a strand of her hair. "It's fine Angie, and we'll were sharing secrets I'm gonna ask Theo to marry me." I told her. "Really that's great I'll help you." Angie told me. "I'd love to have your help, do you know where I could propose to her." I asked her. "I think I know the most perfect spot." Angie told me. "Where?" I asked her excitedly. "Well Molly and me like to hang out in this field, it's surrounded by blue tulips that Molly planted it's beautiful." As Angie told me about the meadow she smiled, I hadn't noticed how much I missed her smile. "That's a perfect spot Angie thank you." I told her I was so happy I found a spot to ask Theo. Angie smiled as she walked out my room I layed down on my bed, my sheets where warm and soft. I felt my tired eyes close my room went dark, and I drifted off into a dream.
