Theo pov
I awoke with a yawn. My curly brown hair was a tangled mess, I stood up and headed to the bathroom down the hall. As I brushed out the tangles I heard a noise from downstairs, it was my father Aaron Burr working on politics. I headed back to my room and quickly changed into my pair of navy jeans and light purple top. I headed down the stairs waving to my father then went straight to the kitchen. I packed my lunch then sat down at the birch table, and unpeeled a orange. My father walked in with a smile.
"Morning Theo!" He said with a grin. "Morning dad!" I said. "Hurry and eat that orange Theo or were gonna be late." My father said well pouring his morning coffee. "Dad it's a 5 minute drive and school doesn't start for another hour." I said with a giggle. "Your right but we should still hurry." My dad said giving her a glance. I immediately knew what that meant, my dad gave her that glance to say don't fight I'm not changing my opinion.
I then sat there in silence, I glanced over at my dad who sat across from me drinking his black coffee. I never understood how he could drink that stuff dark she needed at least a little cream and lots of sugar. I then stood up and pushed in the dark oak chair, I tossed her orange peel in the compost bin and then went upstairs to get her books. She grabbed my math book off my desk and put my supplies away from last night's study session. I then shoved them all in her black backpack. My dad stood by the door and opened it as I ran out and hopped in the passenger seat.
When we got to school my dad went inside to talk with my teachers, to make sure I was still excelling in ever subject. I went to my usual spot a wooden bench near where the school bus dropped off the kids. This way I could meet up with Phillip and his sister Angie. I pulled out a book that I had been reading Cinderella, I know it's for kids but the teachers wanted us to write a essay on a classic story. After half an hour I see a yellow school bus pull up, Phillip is the first out then Angie right behind him, Phillip looked so handsome even though he was wearing jeans and a light blue shirt. He has always been just my friend but I'm not sure I just want to be friends anymore. I think I have a crush on him but why would he want to be with me he's the most popular guy in school and I'm just a nerd. I was lucky to even be able to become friends with him.
"Hey Theo!" Phillip called to her as he waved. I was about to wave back but then Angie ran up to her and gave her a big hug. "I've missed you bestie!" Angie said smiling. "It's only been 2 days since I saw you." I told her with a smile. She grabbed my hand and pulled me into the school and started telling me all about her weekend but I wasn't listening. My black backpack bounced on my shoulders as she talked and I thought about Phillip his freckles and cheeky smile were so cute. I couldn't help but wish we were more then friends. Just then Phillip ran up behind me as the bell rang, I quickly snapped out of my thoughts as we headed to our classes.
