When Tsukishima woke up the next day, he was greeted by a very... strange sight.
Kuroo was sleeping in his futon but had two pillows covering both sides of his head. As if he was trying to block out loud music or something along those lines.
Tsukishima had to blink a couple of times, before putting on his glasses to at least try to understand what his boyfriend was doing.
Of course, Tsukishima didn't want to wake-up Kuroo because although he was a salty middle blocker, he wasn't a complete asshole. So, the tall blond quietly snuck out of the room and headed downstairs.
Tsuki saw a note left on the dining table, so he went over and picked up, only to sigh in annoyance when he read the note.
Tsuki~
Me and your father headed out earlier to go shopping. We'll be out all day, so do whatever you like. Also, tell your friend we said 'hi'.
Mom
The male crumpled up the note before throwing it in the trash. He was happy that he could now have his partner alone, but he knew that his parents would leave the house whenever they wanted... some personal time.
With that, Tsukishima looked up at the clock; it read 7:28. The blond sighed once more. He didn't know if Kuroo was an early riser like him, but he was kinda hoping that he would be up around 8, so he waited.
Tsuki passed the time by watching the Discovery Channel in the living room for the umpteenth time, this one was about anteaters, until he heard the thud of footsteps from the stair case.
"Good morning~" Kuroo called out to Tsuki.
"Yeah. G'morning."
Kuroo walked over to his boyfriend and sat down next to him. He made sure that the two of them were close, but not too close where either one of them would be uncomfortable.
As the rooster-head started watching the TV, Tsuki cleared his throat.
"My parents won't be here for the rest of the day."
"Why?"
"They left to go shopping."
"Like a date?"
"Yeah."
"Cool."
The narrator continued to discuss mating habits of the anteaters and what they would do to attract a mate.
"So, what do you want to do?" Kuroo asked, not taking his eyes off of the screen.
"What do you mean?"
"I traveled all the way here. So let's do something."
"We don't have anything down here."
Kuroo was surprised. "You guys don't have any malls or cafe's around here?"
"I mean, we have a couple of shops and stuff, but nothing that you so-called 'city-slickers' would like."
" 'City-slickers'?" Kuroo raised an eyebrow.
"Sorry, it's what one of our more... special wing-spiker calls you."
"Uh-huh."
The two continued to talk about what they wanted to do for the rest of the day and created a plan for a small simple date.
They were first going to go to school and see if the door to the club-room was unlocked because Tsuki forgot one of his textbooks in there that he needed to study for. Then they were going to go head to Ukai's store and grab some snacks.
Afterward, they were going to go back at the Tsukishima residence and study for a bit. Kuroo said that he wanted to help his kouhai in any way he could. And tall blond was curious to see if Kuroo was actually smart as he said he was, or if he was lying.
So after a small breakfast, the two put on their shoes and headed out to see if the school gates were open. On the way there, they talked about small things such as music and classes.
Once they got to the main entrance of the school, they were greeted by a towering gate.
"Damn it."
"Well... wait. I got this." Kuroo walked up to the gate and started to climb over it. He managed to land gracefully on the other side of the fence.
"What are you doing, you idiot?!" Tsuki was somewhat shocked.
"I'm going to unlock the gate and then you can show me to the club room." Kuroo grinned as he walked to the right side of the gate and unlocked it.
Tsukishima reluctantly walked in the the school courtyard and started to walk to the club rooms. When the two got there, they found the door to be unlocked. Lucky for them.
As the middle blocker opened his locker, Kuroo looked around the clubroom and started to snicker.
"What's so funny?" Tsuki turned around to see what Kuroo was looking at.
"I didn't know that all of you were this desperate," the rooster-head smirked as he pulled out some rather... suggestive magazines underneath Tanaka's locker.
"Th-thats... I mean, it's to be expected. You laughing over my teammates magazines only makes you look lame and childish."
"Uh-huh. Whatever." Kuroo placed the magazines underneath the the locker, got up, and walked over to Tsuki was standing.
Without thinking, Kuroo placed his head on Tsukishima shoulder. Which only caused the blond to jump a little, causing the taller one to bump into the shorter one. Next thing they knew, they ended up on the floor with a mess of limbs and they kinda... just stayed their.
Tsukishima had short-circuited and didn't know how to get himself out of this mess. Nekoma's captain on the other hand... he was trying to fight the urge to just kiss his boyfriend on the spot. The small blush, his glasses being out of place, his cute brown eyes looked like he was a deer caught in headlights.
But Tsuki, being the salty person he was, slowly got up and fixed his glasses before saying," Haven't you heard of personal space idiot?"
"But, you did fall for me didn't you?" Kuroo stated as he got off the floor.
"Sh-shut up."
After collecting themselves, they left the school and made sure to lock up the gate again before heading to Ukai's store.
Coach Ukai was surprised to see Kuroo, let alone Tsuki. As they got their snacks and set them down on the counter, Ukai started to make some small talk with Nekoma's captain.
"So... what brings you here? Are you with your team?"
"Nah, I'm just visiting by myself."
"Huh, shorty was yapping about you yesterday about you being here. So, you're friends with bean pole here, I assume?"
"Yeah, we've been really good friends."
"Whatever." Tsuki cut in their conversation.
"Tch. Your total is 10.76."
After paying their snacks, the two walked out of the store, a bag in one of their hands as they started their journey home. Coach Ukai went back to reading his novel, but he his mind kept wandering to other things.
He couldn't believe that Tsukishima, The Tsukishima, had a friend other than Yamaguchi. And for it to be Nekoma's captain too. Poor Keishin tried to wrap his head around who his middle blocker star was, only for his head to hurt even more.
