Thinking

The following morning, Tsuki headed down to the cafeteria way earlier than the rest of his teammates, with the exception of Kuroo walking with him. They exchanged playful banter and continued their conversation last night... well except for the part of asking who's Tsuki's favorite team manager.

"I bet that Kenma is going to wake up late again. I had to take away his switch last night because he wouldn't put it down. He got mad at me saying something about having to pay a loan or something like that."

Tsuki chuckled. "I couldn't get an ounce of sleep last night because of a certain shorty trying to convince Kageyama into competing in a sleeping competition. They kept whispering about how better they are at sleeping."

Kuroo had stopped walking and had to cover his stomach with his hands.

"HAHAHA, those knuckleheads. Are you sure that those two are the same ones who can do that super quick attack?"

"Honestly, I can't quite believe it myself some days."

The two got their breakfasts and sat down next to each other on a deserted table. But their conversation was cut short when the rest of Karasuno and Nekoma filed into the room. It was natural for the two boys to be separated, after all, they were on opposing teams.

"Saw you talking to Nekoma's captain. What did you say to him?" Nishinoya questioned.

"None of your business."

"Uh-huh. Well, whatever."

Tsuki liked Kuroo and he wasn't a complete jerk or outright stupid, so when the two got to talk, it felt like Tsuki could have a conversation with another human being. Well, besides Tadashi that is.

- Time Skip -

"Remember guys, take this opportunity to learn and grow, I'm talking about you two" Ukai eyed at two rambunctious first years. "Also, don't let number 4 take the whole game. Knock him down a few pegs."

Game Start.

Tsukishima didn't really like playing against Fukurodani's ace, Bokuto Kotaro. Mainly because of his spikes. Trying to stop one of them, if not done correctly, could leave your hands purple and blue. But if you could stop them, the poor owl would become very emotional, or as the rest of his team called it, his 'emo mode'.

Tsukishima had killed a couple of the wing spiker's balls, which lead to Akaashi to just hate the tall blond a little during this match. It didn't help that Bokuto woke up on the wrong side of the bed and was moping all morning.

"Akaashi, don't give me the ball anymore," the owl dramatically stated to his annoyed friend.

Kuroo was watching the game on the sidelines because of the uneven amount of teams, one team was always out in the rotation. He chuckled and smiled at his friend's behavior, but he was mainly focused on Karasuno's number 11.

He was impressed that Tsukishima was trying to do better at his blocks and tried to put some effort into them. Kuroo was also starting to regret telling the blond all the little tips and tricks into blocking effectively.

Kenma looked up at his friend and wondered why he was so focused on Karasuno and Fukurodani's match only to align his vision to what his friend was watching. The short setter began to wonder why Kuroo was taking interest in Karasuno's middle blocker. Sure he wasn't that bad when it came to blocking, but Kenma just couldn't see how special he was.

To Kenma, Tsukishima was like a semi-rare character in a video game, but there were characters like Kuroo and Hinata that could be classified as super-rare or ultimate-rare. The brains of Nekoma tried to figure out what his friend was thinking... so much so that one thought came to mind...

Is he gay?

Kenma quickly shoved that thought aside. Kuroo couldn't be gay, he just... he didn't give off any vibes that he could be. And with that, the setter walked away, wanting nothing more to think about his friend and his relationship with Karasuno's tall middle blocker.

Meanwhile, on the court, a certain blond was getting severely annoyed at Fukurodani's teamwork. Tsuki did try to stop their spikes, hell he tried to do anything to stop the ball from landing on the floor, but nothing worked.

Soft block? Useless.

Kill? Impossible.

Tsukishima felt like he was at his wits end. It didn't help that he felt like he was being stared at.

With one spike from Fukurodani's ace, the score was announced one final time.

"25-22."

Oh well, it's just a game, after all, the blond said to himself as he walked away from the court, already dreading the uphill run he had to face.

"Good job! You can do better next time!" someone shouted to him.

Tsuki turned around to be greeted by Nekoma's team captain jogging towards him.

"Oh great. It's you." Tsuki rolled his eyes.

Kuroo completely ignored his sarcasm though. " Next time, try to hold your hands out a little bit. Stretch out your fingers until they feel like they're going to break off from your hand."

"Wow, the captain really wants me to get a concussion doesn't he?"

"Whatever. You know what I mean. Me and the boys are practicing again tonight. Do you wa-"

"No."

"But-"

"No."

"Fine. We could always use another blocker," Kuroo looked over at Hinata, "Hey shortie, you wanna come play with me and Fukurodani's ace later?"

"YES YES YES!" Hinata squealed in excitement.

"Cool," Kuroo faced Tsukishima again. "Are you-"

"Yes, I'm sure that I don't want to play with you guys. Don't you have to go warm up now or you know, go bother some of your own teammates?"

Kuroo was trying his best to be nice to his... friend? But clearly, Tsukishima wasn't having any of it. So he walked away... more like ran towards his team because, by the looks of it, he had to stop Yaku from trying to kill Lev over something like his height.

The two boys didn't really interact much for the rest of the day. Well, except for practice matches and lunchtime, but other than that, they were both trying to play their games to the best of their abilities.

That is until practice was over and personal training had started. Tsuki said goodbye to Suga and Daichi before making his way over to the school itself, only to be stopped by a certain rooster head on the sidewalk.

"Hey."

"Hey. Do you mind if I asked you a question?"
