Talks and Thoughts

Kuroo entered the room that the Nekoma team was sharing during their training camp, only to be greeted by an annoyed blond setter.

"Come with me."

"What for~?"

"You need to do something for me."

So without question, the roosterhead followed Kenma out of the room and into a nearby hallway. Kenma sighed before looking up at his friend with his phone in his hand. To say that he wasn't a little curious about Kuroo's sexuality would be an understatement.

Kuroo was a little confused about the whole ordeal. It was a bit weird that his best friend wanted to talk to him privately, but he got the sense that he wanted to talk about something important that wasn't related to volleyball, like asking Hinata out or something. I mean come on, have you seen the way the two talked to each other? It was bound to happen one of these days.

"So what do you need?"

"What do you think about guys?"

Well... what a weird question, Kuroo thought to himself.

"What do you mean? I mean guys are cool and whatever, especially if we get to play volleyball with them like Daichi, Bokuto, Tsukishi-"

"Tsukishima. What do you think about him?"

"Tsuki? Well, he's cool and I think that he's got a lot of potential as a middle blocker. Besides that, he-"

"Do you think highly of him?"

"Yeah, like as a rival. Get to the point Kenma."

The blond sighed," I really didn't want to ask this, but... are you gay?"

Kuroo laughed at the silly question. "No! There's no way that I am. I only like girls Kenma, if anything, you're the gay one. What made you come up with that stupid question?"

"Nothing, sorry. I just thought that you were acting weird, that's all."

And just like that, the small setter walked away, back into Nekoma's room all while staring at his phone, probably texting someone.

Kuroo was put-off by the random question, but he didn't let it bother him too long, he had to make sure that his team was quiet and ready for bed, meaning that he had to get Yamamoto and Lev to go to bed before midnight.

Meanwhile, a rather tall, sulky blond was ready for bed, but no one else was in the room, except for Tadashi. So to pass the time, Tsukishima put on his headphones and started to scroll through his Spotify playlists until he found it; "Sleepy Time".

It was a playlist that his brother made for him, before he left for college. Tsukishima was an insomniac and couldn't sleep well without having other sounds in the room like a song or the fan going. His brother always was there to talk to him if Tsuki wasn't able to sleep either. Akiteru knew that his brother couldn't sleep well ever since they were kids, so making him a playlist was a way for him to be there to comfort him even though he was gone.

With the first song playing, the middle blocker closed his eyes and placed his arms behind his heads and sunk into his futon, ready to sleep. That is until Tadashi tapped on Tsukishima's shoulder, which caused him to open his eyes and remove his headphones.

"Sorry Tsuki, but... do you have any toothpaste? I can't find mine and I think Hinata took it by mistake."

"Sure, it's in my bag on the side zipper."

"Thanks!"

And just like that, Tsuki was left alone in Karasuno's room, just jamming out to some tunes. Well, that is until Kuroo's voice sunk into his head instead.

" ...volleyball is more than just a sport."

He turned up the music.

"Having fun, meeting new people, getting to feel the win after a long game."

Turned it up once again.

"That's why you should keep playing."

Okay, that last bit wasn't even something he said, Tsuki told himself. He just didn't understand why Kuroo wanted to spend so much time with him at every second that they didn't have a game or practice.

Tsukishima was never going to admit that the roosterhead was kinda hot, let alone cute. But there was something in his personality that made Tsuki not want to throw a chair at him and he kinda liked that.

Tsuki wasn't the most open about things either. Hell, he really doesn't tell anyone anything about himself, let alone his family. But with Nekoma's captain, the blond didn't mind that they could talk for hours about everything if they could. It was also nice to find out that despite admitting his sexuality to an almost complete stranger, Kuroo respected him and didn't try to make fun about the fact that he was gay.

But then, Tsukishima thought about the little things about Kuroo. The way he smiled. The way he stood, with sweat rolling down the side of his forehead. The laughter he gave when the opposing team couldn't get past his blocks. Before he knew it, he could feel a tint of pink start to rise on his cheeks.

Stop it, Stop it, Stop it, the middle blocker told himself.

The only way he could silence his thoughts was by turning up his music until the bar was completely filled. Oh, how he wished he could already be asleep.

Kuroo on the other hand, had just finished up rounding up all the boys and forced them to stop their bickering and put them to bed, well besides Kenma. He allowed his friend to stay up to play on his Switch for an extra 45 minutes before he took away the device.

But the team captain was still thinking about what Kenma said to him earlier," Are you gay?"

Well to be honest, he wasn't quite sure himself. After Kai's confession last year, he wasn't sure what he did like. So he just kept telling himself that he did like girls despite looking at Kai a little bit differently after his sudden confession.

Kuroo didn't want to believe that he could be gay, that was like... Kenma's thing not his. But he reflected on how he treated others, specifically other teammates and volleyball players like Karasuno's and Fukurodani's.

Until he thought about Karasuno's number 11: Kei Tsukishima.

The third-year thought that Tsukishima was cool and he was sorta jealous over how tall he was, but he was pretty sure that he only wanted to be friends with him and nothing else.

But he thought about Tsukishima and what he was like when they weren't playing a game or just simply talking during breakfast or lunch. Kuroo felt that Tsuki could relate to him in a way considering they both lead heptic lives and trying to keep everything in a somewhat organized fashion.

Kuroo felt calmer and relaxed with the tall blond, unlike every time he talked to a girl that is.

Before the middle blocker even knew it, he fell asleep with his thoughts about Tsukishima before taking Kenma's Switch away for the night.

The brain of Nekoma was going to have a headache that's for sure.
