"Did you carry the 7 over?"

"Oh... damn it."

The two made it safely back to Tsuki's house, but it was clear that Kuroo wasn't actually the greatest when it came to math. Poor Tsuki had to teach the captain simple algebra that even a little kid could do.

As the two sat down in the dinner table, studying equations, Kenma was a little worried about his friend on the other side of Japan.

It was a little weird to know that he wasn't being bothered to play volleyball by his rooster-head friend. No one was there to take away his Switch. No one to question how many hours of sleep he got.

At first, the bleached blond liked the quietness that came with having Kuroo gone, he had to make sure that he and Karasuno's 11 would never break-up. But as the day went on, he was slowly starting to miss his crazy friend.

So he pulled out his phone and checked out Kuroo's Instagram and twitter and wasn't surprised to see that he had posted a bunch of pictures of him and Tsuki. To anyone else, it would look like two friends hanging out, but only Kenma and the other two knew the truth.

Oh well, Kenma sighed.

At least they're having fun.

Fun was something that both of them were not having right now. They ran out of snacks an hour ago, studying has led them nowhere, and poor Tsuki was ready to kick his boyfriend out of his home.

The tall blond was trying to figure out what he could fix for dinner between the two of them. He had assumed that his parents were going to bring home dinner, but it turns out that they texted him, stating that traffic was bad and that they were going to rent a hotel for the night.

Leaving Tsukishima and Kuroo... alone.

Don't get me wrong, the salty middle blocker liked having his boyfriend around, but having this much of him... it was too much for his brain to handle.

Kuroo constantly had to talk about everything, whether it was about school or volleyball, the middle blocker just had to say something about it.

"Do you think we play for a bit? You know, just toss a ball back and forth?"

"We can do that after dinner. Can you please shut up for a little bit? I'm trying to think of what to fix for dinner? Unless you don't care to eat that is."

"..."

"Please stop making that face. Are legit going to cry over everything? Such a loser."

"WHAAAAAAAT?! I'm no loser. How about soba?"

"The closest thing we got is ramen."

"That can work. I'll boil some water."

"Can I trust you with that? Do you know how to work a sink?

"Ha-ha, very funny."

They managed to fix dinner in a very... unique way. Both of them were not the best at cooking, but they were able to fix some packaged ramen with some eggs on the side.

As they sat down and ate, Kuroo started to talk about how he would make these all the time as a kid because he was constantly left home alone. Tsukishima paid attention as his boyfriend talked, trying to understand his partner and how hard it must of been not really having parents around.

After dinner, they cleaned up and headed outside with a volley ball and just started it hitting it back to each other while asking each other about stuff.

"Do you have any siblings?" Kuroo said as he tossed the ball towards Tsukishima.

"Yeah, my older brother. What is your favorite subject?"

"Chemistry. Fish or beef?"

"Fish."

"THANK YOU!"

That sudden outburst made the tall blond missed the ball as it landed with a 'thud' right next to him.

"I'm the only one on my team that prefers fish! I've been looking for someone who also agrees that fish is better than beef. Thank you!"

"Um... you're weird, but you're... welcome?"

Kuroo got really excited and just swooped up Tsukishima in his arms without a second thought. He was on his own little high of happiness and didn't really notice his partner being really stiff and uncomfortable with this close contact.

Tsukishima wasn't really a fan of clinginess, in fact, he couldn't remember the last time he hugged anyone. But it was probably his mom.

Kuroo let go of Tsukishima and looked into his brown eyes, " Are you okay? Did I do something to upset you?"

"No... it's nothing. Come on, let's go inside, it's getting cold." With that, the blond bent down, grabbed the volleyball, and headed back inside, wanting nothing more than to watch the Discovery channel or pop in one of his favorite movies and just relax.

Kuroo followed his boyfriend inside the house and asked if he could use the bath. Of course, Tsuki showed him where everything was, such as the towels, soaps, and even offered a toothbrush.

But before the blond could leave the bathroom, Kuroo cleared his throat.

"Hey~ You know... You could take a bath with me~?"

"No, that's gross and I don't really want to see everything."

"Fair enough."

With that, Tsukishima left the room, leaving Kuroo to undress and slip into the bath with a sigh leaving his lips.

He was grateful that he was with Tsuki and that he could spend a day with him. He felt like he got to know his fellow middle blocker better. It was something that Kuroo thought that the both of them needed.

To able to just relax and have fun was something that Kuroo thought that his boyfriend lacked. It wasn't his fault or anything, it was just that... Tsukishima just seemed to be distant from everyone and Kuroo wanted to change that.

For Tsukishima to open up, even a little, was a monumental movement that Kuroo wanted to be apart of and proud of.

But all this thinking left Nekoma's captain a little pruny around his toes and fingers, so he scrubbed himself and got out of the tub.

As Kuroo walked into the living room, he saw Tsukishima sitting on the couch, watching a movie.

"Is that... Jurassic park?" He asked.

The blond turned his head and looked up to see Kuroo right behind him. He locked eyes with him before turning back around and just sighing while shaking his head 'yes'.

"Do you want to watch something else?" Tsuki asked.

"No. This is fine. I haven't seen this movie in a while."

With that, Kuroo moved and sat next to his partner and started to immerse himself in the movie as well.

As the film rolled the credits, Kuroo looked beside him only to find Tsukishima with half-lidded eyes and small rings starting to form underneath them.

That single sight just made Kuroo wanna kiss Tsuki, but judging on earlier events, he decided to not go through with it.

Instead, Kuroo grabbed a blanket from the other couch and wrapped his blond boyfriend and set some pillows for him to lay his head on.

"Goodnight," He whispered before giving him a kiss on the forehead and walking upstairs to use the futon in Tsukishima's room.

Sure, Kuroo had a long ways to go in order to really understand his dinosaur-loving boyfriend. Hell, he had to dial back on the clinginess before Tsuki had a heart attack. But he was willing to take things slowly, just for him.
