Tsukishima was quite tired after finishing today's games and was ready to hit the showers and go to bed. That is until he passed by the third gymnasium and a certain rooster head saw him.
"Hey! Blonde! Come play with us for a bit!"
Tsukishima walked towards the gym to see who was in the room and was met by the owl and his setter as well as that freakishly tall half Russian and that stupid cat. Tsuki wasn't really impressed or anything as he started to make his way out of the gym. That is until he bumped into a small orange in front of him.
"Sorry, I guess I didn't see you there. My bad", the tall blond smirked.
"Tsukishima!" Hinata groaned.
Kuroo ran up to the two," Hey, we have enough players to have a three-on-three game."
"Hey, hey, hey~ It's Tsuki. Come play with us, my dude," Bokuto called to his annoyed friend.
And so, without much of a choice, Tsukishima ended up playing with his more enthusiastic 'friends'.
Teams went as following:
Team Cats: Kuroo, Tsukishima, Akaashi
Team Owls: Bokuto, Lev, Hinata
Bokuto wasn't happy over the fact that Akaashi wasn't on his team, but Kuroo already picked him for their team, so... the owl sorta ended up in his emo form. But with the help of a certain crow, the owl felt better about not having his best friend and setter on his team.
Game Start.
Tsukishima didn't really care about which team he was on... what he did care about was the fact that Kuroo kept telling him all these different tricks and plays he could do as a fellow middle blocker.
Like how to read block and to hold your arms straight up but make sure that your elbows are bent a little bit.
"Why do you keep telling me all of this? Telling your enemy your secrets isn't something most players would do... unless you're that stupid."
Kuroo looked up the blond and smiled. "I wanna be able to play you guys at nationals and have the Trash Heap battle our coaches have been dreaming about. So by helping you, you're actually helping me trying to achieve my dreams. So don't screw up too badly and make it to nationals for me, will ya?"
Tsuki only sighed at the question and muttered a 'whatever' at his teammate. He didn't really want to fulfill anything when it came to volleyball. After all, with his brother and the disappointment after he found out that Akiteru didn't actually play for Karasuno... he lost all motivation to play the sport.
The boys kept playing until one of the Fukurodani's team manager came in and told the boys that if they kept playing, they would miss out on dinner and nice warm showers. So the boys decided to collectively abandon the room and ran towards the cafeteria, dying to get some nice hot rice and miso soup. Well, except for two tall middle blockers.
Tsuki and Kuroo stayed behind to clean up the mess that they had made. Of course, they weren't completely quiet either. They talked about different things like school and club antics that they had to put up until Kuroo asked something else.
"Which team manager is the hottest? Be honest with me~"
Tsuki looked surprised at the sudden change of question, but he wasn't quite sure how to answer it. Tsukishima found out that he was a little... different from the rest of his friends when he was in junior high. Long story short, he liked the student council president at the time, but he didn't get the chance to ask him out due to finals and graduating from junior high.
He told his parents and brother later when they were concerned about his behavior. He explained that he liked him and was upset that he couldn't come to the conclusion sooner. But his family was very accepting and tried to help Tsukishima feel comfortable with his sexuality.
So when it came to Kuroo's question... he was a bit unsure how to answer it without mentioning the fact that he was gay. Of course, he could lie and say that it was one of his team managers or something, but Tsuki didn't like telling lies from his past experience of being lied to.
So the tall male sighed, stating," I don't like any of them."
Kuroo smirked. "Come on, there has to be one girl that you think is at least somewhat attractive. If you're worried about me telling them then I'll go ahead and tell you mine. It's-"
"I'm gay."
"..." The cat wasn't expecting that to be an answer. And judging by Tsukishima's face, he wasn't joking either.
"Oh..." Kuroo rubbed the back of the neck, unsure of how to take that response. He was fine with others being gay, mainly because of Kenma being a bisexual... but he didn't think that Tsukishima was also gay.
"Yeah. So if you got any homophobic jokes, now is a great time to use them." Tsuki was getting irritated by how the team captain was taking this new information. He would rather be in a shower by now.
"No, I'm not that kind of guy, I swear. I'm cool with you being gay and all because I got a gay friend too."
"Wow, look at Mr. Popular trying to connect to a poor loser like me by saying that he has a gay friend. Got anything else?"
Kuroo didn't want to offend or be rude to the tall blond more than he already has been over the past two days. "Um... look. I'm sorry if I offended you or anything, but I promise I won't make fun of you for being gay. That was never my intention in the first place."
Tsukishima widened his eyes a little bit. He never really told anyone else about sexuality... well besides Tadashi, Suga, and Daichi, but that's a story for another day. But Kuroo was very calm about it and seemed really cool about his little secret.
"Thanks for not being a prick about it."
Kuroo smiled and chuckled a bit. "Thanks for practicing with me and the guys for a bit."
The two walked out of the gym together, wanting nothing more for a nice warm meal and a shower, but they were a little closer as teammates and that.... that was pretty cool too.
