What can I do? Kuroo thought to himself as he heard his boyfriend crying on the other end of the call.
He knew that people could have panic attacks and such, but he never had one or had someone he cared about go through one. But the older middle blocker took a deep breath and cleared his head. He needed to think of what to do in this situation.
"Hey, can you take a deep breath for me please?" Kuroo asked in a calm voice.
Tsukishima was lost in his thoughts, unaware of what his boyfriend asked him to do.
"Tsukishima. Can you please take a deep breath for me?" Kuroo asked again.
This time, Tsuki did what he was told and took a deep breath while hiccuping.
"Now, breathe slowly out through your nose."
Tsukishima tried his best to let go of all the air trapped in his lungs, but he started to hyperventilate instead.
"Hey, hey, hey," Kuroo called softly while cradling his phone to his ear," Can you do that again for me please?"
The blonde sat up straight and tried again. He took a deep breathe and exhaled slowly out through his nose. He didn't really feel a difference, but he continued to breath the way Kuroo told him to.
Kuroo on the other hand was slightly relieved that the breathing method was working. It was something the rooster-head did when he wasn't feeling his best or felt like crying in the middle of a game or something. He just took deep breaths tp clear his head before focusing back into whatever he was doing.
Once Tsuki stopped crying and was only sniffling, Kuroo asked," Do you feel better?"
"This is all my fault," Tsuki whispered.
"No, it's not," Kuroo didn't know what to do. If anything he felt like was the one at blame here.
He didn't mean to hurt his boyfriend, let alone making him panic and cry. If he had known that he would react this way, then he wouldn't have said anything at all. It was just that, Kuroo didn't like lying to people; it wasn't in his nature to do so.
"Do you think we should... stay together?" Tsukishima asked.
"Of course! Look, I know that you didn't want anyone to find out about us, but don't you think that you're the reason why my dad doesn't like me or us or whatever," Kuroo felt something leaving his eyes. Warm tears rolled down his cheeks without warning.
"It's going to be fine. Everything will work out. I still want to be with you and I don't care w-who or what is gonna..." The captain couldn't keep it up. He felt like such a failure in the eyes of his father and boyfriend, he didn't deserve to have Tsuki.
It wasn't fair to him. To have a boyfriend that would make him cry, let alone go into a panic attack. He should have someone closer to him and could actually take him out on dates, go places, not having to call every night because of the distance, having-
"Hey... are you... okay?"
Kuroo widened his eyes in shock as he tried to wipe the tears away and cleared his throat. "Yeah."
Tsukishima could tell that he was lying though. He paused way too long to answer him.
"Kuroo. Talk to me."
"I-I don't know what you mean."
"Kuroo Testuro."
"W-what are you? My m-mom?"
"..."
"I'm not okay." Kuroo stated.
"Then tell me what's wrong."
