Ring, Ring, Ring.
Tsuki's alarm buzzed and beeped, telling him to get up, but it was the weekend. The blond had set an alarm to make sure he would call Kuroo and wish him a good game before they were off to play.
With that in mind, the blond shuffled out of his head, grabbed his glasses and phone, and dialed up his rooster head's phone number. He waited for a while before the phone was picked up.
"Hey," Croaked Kuroo.
"Hey."
"Why'd you call me this early?"
"I just wanted to wish you a good game. Beat that stupid owl and his setter okay?"
"Uh-huh."
Tsukishima could tell that something was off. Kuroo wasn't really the quiet type, so it bugged him a little to know that his boyfriend was down.
"What's wrong?" The blond asked.
"Nothing."
"Lies."
"What?"
"You aren't usually this quiet. Something wrong. Tell me what it is or I will travel all the way to Tokyo to smack some sense into you."
"Look, I... I'll have to tell you later, after the tournament okay?"
"Don't be lame and forget to tell me okay?"
"I promise. I'll tell you everything when I get back home."
"Bye."
"Bye."
Kuroo ended the call, making Tsuki rub his eyes a little before grabbing his favorite dinosaur book and reading it. He was free to do whatever he wanted to day, and after having a hard game against Sejioh and practice afterward, the middle blocker just wanted to unwind with a good book.
Meanwhile, Kuroo shoved his phone in his back pocket and directed the first years where all the equipment needed to go on the bus. They all woke up quiet early for the tournament, considering they had somewhat a long way to get there.
Once everyone and everything was accounted for, the team left to head for Sumida City Gymasium. On the way there though, Kuroo was lost in his thoughts about him and his father.
"Are you gay?" His father asked.
"I..." Kuroo took a deep breath," I am."
"Get out."
The hatred that filled his eyes, down to the tone of his voice. Kuroo could tell that he upsetted his father greatly. But he couldn't help it. He couldn't change the way he felt about Tsukishima. It was something he struggled with himself.
It wasn't his choice to like the blond and think that he was cute, cool, and occasionally fun to be around. Hell, he wasn't even sure what his sexuality was. He had some help from Tsuki and narrowed it down to be either pan or bisexual, but it still was up to him what he wanted to go by.
This sucks, Kuroo sighed.
He just hoped that him or Tsukishima wouldn't be in trouble for it. Tsuki's parents weren't aware of them dating, but they knew that Tsuki was gay and support him for that. Tsukishima's family was something Kuroo envied a little.
His dad and mom got separated when he was just a kid and he had to move away with his dad and grandparents. He talked to his mom now and then, but they never really got to see each other after the papers were signed and Kuroo's father gained full custody over him.
