I'd laid on my bed last night staring at the ceiling for hours thinking of him, wondering if or how many times I'd gone through his mind too.
His touch, his kiss, the rush.
The surge I had when he placed his hands on my waist when we danced, I'm sure he felt it too.
We had slowly kissed exploring each other taking our time enjoying every moment, his skilled tongue how it swirled with mine.
Then how he dismissed me telling me I should go to bed, his swift mood changes had my head in a spin. One minute he's left then he's right. I honestly can't keep up. When I'd got up this morning he'd already left. The rest of the week was the same, it was evident he was avoiding me, I bet he regrets kissing me. It's funny really since I was meant to be avoiding him in the first place.
The thing is though I don't want things to be awkward between us but he makes it like that sometimes anyway by being mean. Sometimes his frozen heart, makes my spirit shake. There has to be more, a reason for why he acts the way he does. He's the meanest to me which confuses me, what have I ever done to him?? Questions after questions swirled my mind.It was the bonfire tonight, I'd promised Hayley I'd go. I was meeting her and her friend Lucy at eight at the park down the road. There were posters everywhere advertising it. I love fireworks, the pop and sparkles in the sky. The best I'd seen was at a competition when they did it to music, it was brilliant! Although there is only so much pop bang one can take.
It's been a warm day, I had made the mistake of wearing jeans and a long sleeved top. So when I got back in I put my denim shorts on and white crop top on. I got my red bandanna and tied it at the front of my hair. Grabbed my red and black checkered shirt and tied it around my waist in case it gets a little chilly. I decided to put some red lippy on.I'd finally managed to get in touch with Jodie and convinced her to come to the bonfire night. She still seemed a little weird but I aren't gonna complain I'm just glad she's coming. Just then someone knocked at the door. I went to answer the door, seeing it was Jodie I put my arms round her giving her a big hug.
"Hey! Come in. I'm just gonna put my trainers on."
I ran to my bedroom, grabbed my white trainers. She was looking about.
"You okay Jodie? Your acting dead weird."
"Erm. Yeah was just wondering where everyone was."
"I know Lisa and Georgie are going to the bonfire in an hour or so. Not sure about the guys."She nodded and looked a little more relaxed. I hooked my arm through hers, and we walked down to the park. She told me what she'd been up to, I told her about what happened at the club. I didn't mention our kiss though. That I wanted to keep to myself as I felt a little embarrassed how the night actually ended.
I rang Hayley when we got there she told us to meet at the burger bar near the waltzers. We spotted them easy enough, Hayley had a pink dress on and Lucy was wearing black jeans and a black crop top.
"You girls look good tonight." I smiled at them.
"Thanks gal!" Hayley beamed.
"This is my good friend Jodie."
"Hi Jodie heard lots about you!"
"Good I hope." Jodie laughed.Lucy said she knew the best spot to watch the fireworks but first we needed drinks. So we grabbed some beer. It was busy so we all stayed close till we got to a quieter spot. Lucy walked off to the side to answer her phone.
When she'd come off her phone she had the biggest smile on her face, telling us she had a few guys she'd like us to meet.
We followed her, how could we say no.
Only when I saw the group we were heading towards I couldn't help chuckling.
"Please tell me she doesn't mean them?" I asked Hayley.
Jodie give me a knowing look whilst laughing too.
Hayley looked confused.
"A few of them are my roommates."
"Oh. Lucy likes one of them apparently." She smiled and shrugged her shoulders."Lacey!!!! Jodie! Hey girls.. " Lisa called us over.
The group of guys turned around, I could spot Mateo a mile off. He looked a little taken back, I bet he wasn't expecting me. Good. That just made me smirk. The lights in his eyes though didn't last long when they flickered to Lucy then back to me. He frowned a little and I watched on as Lucy pulled Hayley over to meet the guys.
She gave a few of them a hug but it was quite obvious her attention was on Mateo.
Danny started walking up to me.
"Surprised to see you out causing more trouble." He teased.
Remembering the last time I saw him at the club.
I chuckled "Only a little trouble."
He gave me a cheeky grin.
"We can manage a little since its you. But serious I'm just glad your ok." He nudged me then put his arm around my shoulder.
I smiled up at him, he was sweet.Jason, Danny, me and Jodie chatted about random rubbish. I kept looking over at Mateo sneaking glances at him.
Lucy had her arms round his waist and his around hers while he had a drink in his other. Me and Jodie decided to go over to Hayley as she looked a little lost not knowing anyone. I saw this as an opportunity to put Mateo on the spot to see if he'd ignore me.
"You ok Hayley?" I wrapped my arm round her.
"Yeah I'm fine, I could do with another drink though."
Tom offered to go with her and get us all a drink. They went off to the beer stand. I could feel the heat from the bonfire, it glowed on Mateo's face who had his full attention on Lucy. My stomach was in a twist watching him with her.
"Hey Mateo."
He glanced at me and nodded his head once acknowledging me. Then he walked off and Lucy trotted after him like a lost puppy."Keep being a stranger then." I called after him.
He glanced back over his shoulder.
"You just keep being strange weirdo."
Lucy looked at me puzzled.
"You know each other?" She asked me.
"He's my roommate, along with a few others here. As you can see we get on like a house on fire." I laughed.
She laughed "I see that. I can't believe he's your roommate! He's so hot and even hotter in bed."
What. The. Hell! She's slept with him. Now I felt like I was going to throw up.
Jodie put her hand on my back.. "You ok Lacey? You've gone really pale."
I nodded to her then focussed back on Lucy trying not to look odd.
"Yeah he's a dipshit. Can't believe you've slept with him. Small world."
"It is a small world. Nothing small about him though." She winked.
Eurgh really?? I did not need to hear that from her.
"Anyway I'm gonna go find him and get him to buy me a drink."
Off she went in search of him.
