Avoid

Chapter 22

I rang Jodie this morning telling her about what went down when I went out with Danny last week. She said he probably is just bored and gets a kick out of winding me up, she said I should just stay away.
I hate that I know I should stay away but I really don't want to, he's bad, he toys with me, I'm never sure if what I'm feeling is real or not.
I have done well to avoid him, I had a date with this sweet guy who was completely the opposite to Mateo, but he'd manage to ruin it off from the off go because I was going out and forgot my purse rushing to my room to come back to Mateo stood in just his boxers in the living room holding out my black thongs saying I must of dropped them. Well obviously this didn't look great on my part I acted like they weren't mine but he embarrassed me holding them up to me and everything I was mortified!
He just kept ruining my dates I'd warned him to give up with wishful thinking he'd get the message. I'm hoping my date tonight is going to be better than the previous ones, a guy who me and Hayley bumped into at the coffee shop said he'd seen me around, so we exchanged numbers. He had pretty hazel eyes and blonde hair, he had some cool colourful tattoos on his leg. I've been quite nervous about meeting up with this Ben. He was gorgeous, he like Mateo had women flocking round him a lot.

Georgie met me to walk back to our dorm, Mateo shouted us catching us up. He looked his godly devilishly handsome self in his navy joggers and black top with some woman in her underwear on the front.
He smiled his glorious smile at us both wrapping his arms round our necks.
"So shorties what's going on down there?"
I giggled I loved this his playful side without him being horrible, his way with words made me smile. I gave him a playful elbow, he looked down at me and winked with the most sexy smile. I make no wonder women throw themselves at him, when he's this stunning and playful. Although I still can't work out how sometimes I get the nasty streak, but hey I'm learning that's just Teo for you.
"Teo did you do that other drawing for my dad?" Georgie asked.
"Yeah I'll grab it as soon as we get back."

He kept his word he went and got the picture for Georgie as soon as we got back. She went and put it in her room.
"What's that on your dress? Been making a mess again." He smirked pointing at my dress.
Crap! I had got tomato sauce on my denim pinafore dress. Today I'd opted for a white T-shirt underneath it.
"Yeah that is actually tomato sauce."
"You sure it's not time of month." He was grinning like an idiot.
I shook my head.
"I'm going in the shower anyway..."
"Whoa! I bagsy the shower first stinker."
"I don't think so!"
"Wanna bet?" He darted off to the bathroom not before he pushed me to fall down on sofa, cheeky bugger.

When I'd finally managed to get a shower I put my silver hoop earrings in and black silky tight dress on. Tonight I'd put on my light pink eyeshadow and some pink lipstick.
I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in, I'm just finishing my make up off."
Mateo strolled in.. looking gorgeous in his black jeans and white shirt.
"Lacey..." He paused dragging his eyes over my body.

"Wow you look um.. well you look stunning." He sounded nervous not something I was used to from him. I felt this was a genuine compliment so I gave him my best smile... "Thanks Teo."
Then carried on applying my mascara.
"Lisa has made some tea she wants to know if your having some? But it looks like your going out?"
"I'm eating out could you tell her no thank you please."
He nodded but didn't move just staring at me, as if he wanted to say something else but didn't he walked out closing my door.

I heard a loud knock on the front door and I could tell Teo answered by hearing his voice. I rushed out I'd tried to get to the door before him.. still trying to put my shoes on hopping. They exchanged heys like they knew each other and Mateo explained how he was busy. But then Ben explained that he was actually here to take me on a date.
Mateo now looked shocked... "With her" pointing at me with disgust.
Now he's referring to me like some dirt after telling me I look stunning what the hell?!?

Ben said "Yeah mate, I've had my eye on her a while."
Mateo looked back and forth between us.
"I thought you studied on Tuesday evenings" He said to me.
How did he know that? I didn't think he even paid attention.
"I do but I'm going to study tomorrow instead"

Something was playing across his eyes but I wasn't sure what.. he was very ..
"Right well have fun if you can with little Miss Boring over here."
He had been making coffee but had just left it grabbed his black leather jacket and walked out the door. Okayyy...
"What about his food?! Oh well more for us." She said to Jason.
I could hear Jason whispering asking Lisa what that was about. I pretended I didn't hear as it was too awkward.
"Right guys I'm going out."
"Have fun!"
They shouted.

I couldn't help feeling like crap, Mateo looked a little hurt. I just don't understand what he wants from me. Why can't he just say if he does want me, not toy with me. This nice and naughty drives me insane.
"Lacey? Did you hear what I said." Ben asked.
"God sorry I was away with the fairies. What were you saying?"
"I was saying is The Halton ok for drinks?"
"Yeah sure."

This place was quite posh I'm kind of glad I'd made an effort now.
"What can I get you?"
"White wine please."
He ordered our drinks.
"Lacey you look gorgeous by the way." He said handing me my drink.
We talked about the friends in common we have.
He said he used to be quite close to Mateo. I told him how I'd seen some of his drawings and how he was so talented. He agreed and told me some of the things he'd seen him draw.
Ben kept getting the odd woman coming over saying hello, he was quite popular but I did know this he just knew a lot of people in general. He was answering this pretty woman when my phone pinged.
Teo: Hope your dates going good. You deserve a good time
My heart ached a little, I wish my date was with him as lovely as Ben was.
Lacey: It's ok thanks Ben seems lovely. What are you up to anyway?
Teo: Ok? Yeah he's a good guy. Getting drunk lmao
Lacey: Well it's better than ok. Are you drunk now Teo?
Teo: Can't be that great if your texting me. Nah not yet but that's the plan though ;)
Lacey: Your distracting!! Hmm you at home?

"Lacey, sorry about that. I used to go to primary school with her."
I smiled "It's fine, want another drink?"
I offered he grinned shaking his head.
"There's no way I'm letting you get our drinks."
He really was lovely.

"I think you have some admirers over there."
He followed my gaze laughing.
"Don't you leave me! They may come over then."
I laughed.. "Well it's funny you should say that because I need the toilet." I bit my lip.
"You can wee yourself, you ain't going." He joked.
"I'll try not to be too long." I smiled.

I went to the toilet then checked my phone.
Teo: Clearly not distracting enough for you to go on your date.
Teo: Well you must be busy now.. so I'm gonna get busy now ;)

Crap. That was hours ago I hadn't realised the time. Did he want to be distracting enough for me not to go on a date? A part of me really hoped so. I went back out and Ben was talking to two lads. What did Teo mean he's going to get busy?
Wait.. he means with another woman doesn't he. My ugly jealousy was flaring up I really don't want him to so if I can stop him I will.
If he's at home surely I can distract him!
Yeah I need to go pronto I feel like this could be the night we shed some light on what's going on with us.
