Gem's POV

It's been 2 weeks, and my mate was cold and angry towards both me and Faith. We barely saw him, not that we wanted too, and we are getting along with Gracie. She told us about her talk with Tyler, and how she yelled at him and stormed off on him.

She was brave!

She told us that she believed in mates and believed that they were everything. She didn't find her mate yet, but she's patient.

Tyler has been more anger towards us these days, and no one wants to get in his way.

I want to teleport out and leave, but my wolf is fiercely arguing with me.

I have these huge headaches again.

Iris is so annoying.

I was so immersed in my thoughts that I didn't see where I was going, and I crashed into my mate.

I felt sparks, and Iris was yipping and jumping around.

"Sorry Tyler," I mumbled.

He growled. "That's Alpha to you, filthy rogue!"

I flinched, and Faith, my hero, pulled me away.

"Thanks, you're my hero," I whispered.

"W-why do you think he acting like this?" I asked softly, heartbroken.

Faith looked at me sadly. "He..."

I cut her off. "He doesn't want me, right? He wants to reject me or kill me but his wolf is fighting him, just like mine is fighting me, right? He doesn't care about me and wants me to die so he could have his fucking perfect life back, right? He wants my life to be miserable and only keeps me here for his wolf. He wants to leave me heartbroken because doesn't give a fuck about me or my feelings. He's rejecting the mate bond and doesn't acknowledge me either. I'm just a burden, right?" I said, running into the forest.

I didn't even think of the rules when I ran off, tears threatening to fall.

"Hey little tree," I whispered, rubbing the bark of a beautiful tree.

Hello~

"I need help, I-" I sobbed. "I can't go on anymore. Why does he not want me? Am I not good enough?"

No, it's him that is not deserving~

The other trees murmured in agreement.

"But why? Why is he rejecting the bond? The bond that the moon goddess chose for us!" I said, tears streaming down my face.

The tree reached its leaves toward me, wiping my tears.

Don't worry, we warned you of this, get rid of him, you are already perfect, you are already loved. You are special, you don't need him~

"But I can't! I can't do that!" I cried.

I suddenly heard rustling.

Someone's here, two~

"What? Who?" I said, turning around.

I saw someone that reeked of power and someone that I recognized. Gracie.

I looked confused. "What are you doing here?"

She put her hands on her hips. "I'm here with Beta Victor, Tyler's brother! Tyler thought you guys tried to run away! He sent us to find you! What are you doing here? And why and how are you talking to the trees?"

I quickly asked a question. "Brother? I didn't know he had a brother?"

"Stop avoiding my questions with your questions! And yes, Tyler has a brother and no, not everyone knows about it. Now, answer my questions!" She said, pouting. Beta Victor looked at us, amused.

"Well, um, I just like talking to the trees," I said awkwardly.

"Nope, then why were you answering back like you guys were having a conversation?" She asked, her eyes narrowed.

"Well, sometimes I feel lonely so I pretend I'm having a conversation with them!"

"You have Faith."

"Uh, well, I, uh, just feel like I have a connection with them!" I said, my words tumbling.

"Okayyyyy..." Beta Victor and Gracie still looked suspicious.

"Well, follow us back to Alpha Tyler's office," Beta Victor said, cutting the silence.

I nodded.

Beware, stay strong, beware, get ready, it's coming~

I shuddered at the chanting trees, and Gracie glanced at me. I shrugged.

When we arrived, Beta Victor left immediately. Gracie rubbed my shoulder reassuringly. "I'm still not letting you off the hook though!" She said, wagging her finger.

I grinned at her when she left. She was a great friend.

I gathered up my courage and knocked on thee door.

I heard my mate's gruff voice. "Come in."

Wish me luck, fingers crossed, I hope I don't die.
