Silvia's POV
"This stupid forest!!!!" I kicked a rock in Crystal's direction. "We've been walking for days." I looked up and saw tall mountains. "I swear Crystal, if you tell me we have to climb those fucking mountains-wait. Tell me why we can't teleport again?"
Crystal rolled her eyes. "Because the Fae realm is hard to find, much less the Fae council. And as I mentioned, they move around a lot so they are hard to locate."
I sighed. Goddamit.
"But," she interjected. "We are almost there."
I groaned. "You fucking said that yesterday!!!!"
She shrugged. "But we are actually almost there, just you wait."
I eyed her suspiciously. Why did I decide to trust this lady again? She might just be leading me deep into the forest to kill me.
"I can tell you are suspecting me, again." She rubbed her eyes and mumbled, "every day."
"I can hear you!" I hollered.
"You were meant to hear that!" She hollered back.
I frowned. Wait, remind me why I'm following her again?
She sighed. "Do I need to remind you again that if I wanted to kill you, I would've done it days ago? And if I did kill you, which is very tempting, I wouldn't have to suffer through your annoying whines."
I glared at her. "Hmph."
She giggled. "Haha, we're here."
I looked around. "What do you mean we're here? There are only, let me see, trees, trees, trees, trees, and trees."
'You forgot, rocks, moss, bushes, plants, and flowers," she interjected. "But, that big tall tree in the center is where we are supposed to walk into."
I raised an eyebrow. "Are you...serious?"
She nodded, then gave me a crazy grin. Uh oh. I saw her walking closer to me, taking small, slow steps. I backed away cautiously. "What are you going to do?"
She suddenly lunged toward me and gave something like a battle cry. I screamed as she grabbed me and threw me into the big tree. I held my head and closed my eyes, waiting for the impact.
But it never came. As I opened my eyes, I immediately screamed and covered my head.
"Oof," I groaned as I hit the solid ground. I sat up and rubbed my head.
Just as I tried to get up, Crystal landed right on me, causing me to fall hard on the ground, again. I held my head and groaned again.
"Crystal, get off me."
"Oops!" She giggled as she jumped up. I got up more slower.
She didn't wait for me to give her an answer. "Come on, right this way!" She said eagerly, dragging me to an ancient tower.
I grudgingly followed her. I wonder what I might see there.
Crystal's POV
"Hi guys, I brought someone here!" I chirped to the Fae Council.
Peri uncrossed her arms and legs and stood up. "Hm. Montgomery."
I nodded.
"I'm Silvia," my friend said timidly.
"Your parents died in a magic fight about 7 years ago right?" Peri asked, looking at Silvia like a hawk.
Silvia gulped and nodded. Not cool Peri.
"And you have no more living relatives, right?" OMFG PERI THE FAIRY SHUT IT!!!
I cleared my throat. "Well, that's not really relevant to why we're here, but..." I sighed in relief as Peri looked at me and not at Silvia.
"Why are you two here then?" She narrowed her eyes.
"Well, I was hoping you guys could take Silvia in, you know, since I can't bring her anywhere..." I trailed off, glancing at the other council members awkwardly.
"Wait, so you're not staying with me? You're just gonna drop me off here and leave?" Silvia threw her hands up, looking hurt.
"Well, I have to go somewhere too, and I can't just take you there... and besides, you are safer here, where Lucien won't find you. With me, there's a higher risk of him finding you," I reasoned.
Please believe me, please believe me, please, please, please believe me.
I really didn't want saying goodbye to be as hard as the other goodbyes.
"Fine," she said, giving up. I almost gave out a sigh of relief when she gave in. Thank god.
Peri clicked her tongue. "I will take her in, but I have some unfinished business. Are you okay with following me, Silvia?"
I glared at Peri. What game are you playing?
Silvia looked hesitant, nervousness showing in her eyes. "What kind of unfinished business? Is it dangerous?" she asked Peri.
Peri chuckled. "Not that dangerous. And besides, you have me with you, so what could go wrong? That is, if, you decide to come along." I almost scoffed at her words. If Peri the Fairy, one of the highest in the Fae council, has some unfinished business, you would surely expect that there would be a risk, right?
I didn't even want to think about the last known business with that witch and that pack in Romania.
Silvia gulped. "Yeah, okay, I could go with you." She then looked at me.
I couldn't just leave her with Peri and her risky missions!
No, I have to leave. I really don't want to, but I have to.
"So this is goodbye?" She asked. I looked back at her sorrowfully and nodded.
I hugged her. "But I'll come back eventually."
She held onto me tighter. "I hope so. Thank you for everything you did for me. I can't thank you enough."
I let go of her. "It was a pleasure meeting you. I swear I'll come back and find you!" I hollered, walking backwards. I saw Peri glance at Silvia pitifully.
Silvia waved back until I was nothing but a shadow.
It's time to go back to where I was before.
