Jace's POV

I grinned at the small ball of fur and buried my nose into her fur. I felt her shiver, and I smirked. Was that just a coincidence? I think I also felt a small spark...

I patted her on her head and stood up, taking her with me though.

Minutes before, I mindlinked one of me and Oscar's best friend, Natalie, to help me with this test.

I walked in Natalie's room and set KC down. I also locked the door, making sure no one can come in.

"Hey Nat," I pretended to look at her lustfully.

Nat suppressed a giggle and attempted to seem like she was seducing me. I then took my shirt off. She slowly plucked some of her clothes off, and I glanced at KC.

It was a funny sight. She was meowing like she was panicking, and she clawed the door like someone on a mission. She refused to look our way either. Hm...

I mouthed a 'thanks' to Natalie and scooped KC up while putting my shirt back on. I rushed to my room and set her down.

I pet Kasey's small head and I lifted her close to my mouth.

"You can shift back now, Kasey," I whispered in her ear. My wolf resurfaced and perked up.

"Mate?" He whimpered.

I nodded. "Definitely."

I smirked as I saw the little black cat shift into my mate. I felt whole again. It was my mate!

Kasey's POV

You don't know how panicked and agitated I felt when I was locked inside that room with Jace and her. Not to mention disgusted.

But then when they didn't do anything and Jace brought me back to his room, I had a gut feeling that something was up.

And of course something was up. When Jace lifted me up to his face, I was confused and cautious. What was he doing?

"You can shift back now, Kasey," he had whispered in my ear. I shivered as I heard the smirk in his voice. He... he knew! I could just imagine Lucifer shaking his head at me, mumbling how I always manage to mess things up.

I slowly stood up and felt my fur ripple as I shifted. I shyly stood in front of Jace. At least my clothes were still intact.

I rubbed my arm. "Erm... hi?"

I saw Jace grin at me, his eyes lighting up, and he starts to move forward to hug me. But then a frown replaced his grin, his light in his eyes dimmed, and he froze in his steps. He backed away cautiously, and I almost whimpered.

What happened? Does he not want me any-

I saw the sadness in his eyes and in his voice. "You probably will reject me. I've been so horrible, hurting you but you still helped me do my Alpha work. If you are going to reject me, get it over with." I could sense the sadness, regret, and guilt coming from him.

And I smiled. I smiled at him and hugged him. "I don't like what you did, actually, I quite despise what you did, but I forgive you. I can sense how guilty and regretful you feel. I won't reject you." I whispered in his ear while holding onto him tightly.

Jace looked at me. "I love you." He said, putting his face next to mine.

Where'd this big confession come from? "Love you too," I said truthfully.

He kissed me again and again until we were full blown making out.

I began to twist around but he pushed me down onto my back. I giggled but kept kissing him, letting it get more hot and rough. For a second I wasn't sure what to do now but all thoughts went out the window when he pressed his hips against mine thrusting into me through our clothes.

I paused. "Jace..." I warned. I would've loved to mate right now, but I know I wasn't ready yet. And I have to go back to Lucifer, and I don't want to be dragged to hell.

Jace sighed but mumbled an 'ok', understanding. "But can I mark you?" He asked, his breath fanning on my face.

I nodded, nervous and excited at the same time.

I felt his hair tickle my cheek as he bent his head into the curve of my neck, his breath brushing my skin in scorching waves.

He paused for a split second before I felt the prick of his canines as they pierced my skin slowly and dug into my throbbing pulse.

A warm sensation overwhelmed my nerve endings, and the pain of his invasion disappeared as a pleasant vibration hummed through my mind and body. The stress, the worry, the doubts, every negative emotion that had been circling my head was gone.

All I felt was bliss.

Jace's POV

The power of the bond rushed over me like a gust of warm wind as my wolf let out a loud howl to express his joy of being physically joined to his mate.

I felt rejuvenated like I had finally been charged to a hundred percent after days of being stuck at the eighty percent mark. My body was pulsating with energy that I did not even know existed.

I raised my head from her neck and studied the bloody punctures that were healing quickly. Her face was relaxed and she even had the faintest smile on her lips as she slumped against me.

"Oh my gods," I heard her say breathlessly.

I grinned. "Yes, now we can mindlink and you can send me nud-"

She slapped her hand on my mouth. "Forget what you were saying," she said, blushing.

I patted her head softly. "You still have to leave, do you..."

She sighed, untangling herself from my grip. She gave me a look. "Yes... but now I don't want to..."

I traced the beautiful mark on her neck and I smirked when I felt her shiver in pleasure.

God, if he continues... I don't think I'll ever be able to leave his side.

My smirk widened. "Do you want me to continue?" I whispered in her ear.

She gaped at me. Oh my gosh! I forgot we can hear each other's thoughts!

"And it seems as if you forgot again," I pointed out, grinning at her. She shook her head and I felt a wall come up between us.

"Wait. You didn't explain to me what happened in that room..." she shuffled.

I chuckled. "I was suspicious of you before, so I called my prankster friend Natalie to help me."

"And she's not interested in you?" I couldn't help but smirk at her jealousy.

"No, she doesn't swing that way. And she's waiting for her mate." I saw Kasey nod.

I reached in for another kiss when suddenly I was met with a blinding light.

"Kasey," someone said, sounding bored and impatient. "Time to go."

I looked at this guy, and couldn't help but feel jealousy. He was no doubt, handsome, and I was a bit worried that he might take Kasey away from me.

Well, after I realized that was Lucifer, he was going to take Kasey away from me.

But Kasey took my hand and gave me a small kiss. "Don't worry, I'll visit soon," she said.

I nodded, but couldn't help but feel saddened that she was going to leave me.

I guess we were too different... but I won't ever stop loving her. After all, this goodbye isn't for forever.
