It took almost no time for everyone to realize something was going on with Yo. Ever since he and Love had come home from the hospital, he hadn't gone anywhere. He didn't have the motivation to leave the apartment. Pha would leave each morning for classes, dash back to have lunch with Yo, go back for afternoon classes, tutor the juniors, then head straight for the apartment so Yo wasn't alone. Even with the majority of his time being taken up with school, Pha still insisted on doing his part in taking care of Love.

Pha was the one to get Love when she cried at night, bringing her into the bedroom for Yo. Yo's legs were still too weak for him to walk normally. That also meant Pha was the one making the special cookies and goodies for Yo so he didn't have to worry about Love going hungry. He justified everything by telling himself Yo was still healing from a traumatic birth and he needed his rest.

For the first week...then Pha was squinting past the worry and helping instinct to take a good look at Yo. His baby was so thin and quiet, dark circles under his eyes as if he wasn't sleeping enough, and Pha would come home to red eyes and a blotchy face more often than not.

Post partum depression.

Pha's mother had never gone through that, so he couldn't ask her for guidance. And as far as he knew, Narissa and Addie hadn't experienced it, either. Poor Yo...a first-time male mom, barely surviving giving birth to their daughter, and now he was depressed from everything.

"Pha, what's wrong?" Kit asked during lunch one day. "You seem to be worried about something. Is it Yo?"

Pha had paused in his eating, frowning down at his plate in thought. "Yeah, I think he's depressed."

Beam's brow furrowed. "You think?"

"I'm pretty certain he is."

"An aunt of mine had post partum depression," Kit said sadly. "Damn...poor Yo. That's horrible."

"Pha, I'm coming to the apartment with you," Beam said suddenly.

Pha and Kit looked at him.

"My mother went through it, and so did my cousin. Let me talk to Yo," Beam insisted. "You and Kit take Love into the living room so he can't hide behind her."

Yet another case of tough love. Pha hated this. He didn't want to potentially make things worse for Yo.

"How's Ming doing?" Beam asked Kit, spooning more rice into his mouth while he waited for Kit to answer.

"The twins kicked me last night," Kit laughed. "Poor Ming. The way he acted, you would have thought he'd kicked me. He apologized all over the place."

Beam had to smile. "Damn. Your kids are so active."

Kit screwed his mouth to the side. "I have no idea how we're going to manage things after they're born. Two babies...aish. But I love them already."
