Too Big To Wrap

Yo was feeling like a jumbled up mess the morning of his twentieth birthday. Happy to spend the day with his fiancé and babygirl, sad for yet another year having gone by without his mother, angry to be waking up with the sun in his eyes - one of them had forgotten to close the frikkin curtains last night - and plain exhausted due to the growing twins. He rolled over on his side, facing away from the evil sunlight, and scooched back into Pha's hold. Too comfortable to get up, he was relieved when all Pha did was cuddle closer and keep sleeping.

He woke up again sometime later, disoriented at the soft crying.

"Don't worry, baby. I'll take care of Love," came Pha's rumbling morning voice.

Yo made a sound of acknowledgement, burrowing deeper into the covers with his eyes already closed again. If Pha was going to offer to deal with a hungry Love, who was Yo to argue with him? He didn't even notice when Pha slipped back into bed beside him, sound asleep again. This pregnancy was taking just as much out of him as when he was carrying Love, if not more. His energy was low, meaning he was tired all the time, and he didn't want to get up and do anything. Sleeping was his hobby for now.

The third time he woke up was to Pha gently carding a hand through his hair, murmuring babytalk to a fascinated Love, staring up at her father with solemn eyes. Yo smiled as warmth spread through his chest. Being able to watch his fiancé and daughter interact like this made him feel so happy and content. The perfect start to his birthday.

"Morning, sleepyhead," Pha dropped a small kiss to Yo's forehead, breathing a laugh as the younger guy merely yawned. "Need more sleep?"

Yo shook his head, rolling to the side and pushing himself upright. "If I sleep more now, I won't sleep at all tonight. I need to get up. Did you have breakfast already?"

"Yeah."

"What did you eat?" Yo tried in vain to flatten his bedhead while trudging out to the kitchen in search of food.

"Had a yogurt. No time for anything else since Love was demanding attention."

"You need to eat, P'Pha," Yo said firmly. He set about making some scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and congee. "I'll make breakfast for us."

"Thank you, baby," Pha came up behind him, wrapping an arm around the smaller's waist.

Yo hummed softly as he plated the food, Pha still stuck to his back like a koala, and Love sitting in her highchair while babbling and banging her rattle on the tray. Yo had Pha sit down to eat, then turned his attention to Love. Since their precious little girl was already six-months-old, it was time to really wean her off of breast milk and onto solid foods. Today, Yo was starting with cooked cereal but instead of water or regular milk, it was mixed with some breast milk.

Pha watched while eating his own food. A part of him was sad that Yo was weaning Love off of breast milk, not for the obvious reasons - he wasn't that much of a pervert! But because their little girl was growing up too fast for his liking. He wanted her to stay a baby a while longer.
