Win did make an appointment to see the doctor. He tried to convince his friends to go with him for support, but Blue was taking advantage of the day since they had no classes. He was going on a long date with Liam. Ming did have classes, so Win didn't ask him. Yo was going to, but then little Love came down with a low-grade fever the night before, sending her parents into a panicked frenzy and taking her to the hospital. Dr. Jaruji assured them she'd be okay, but still kept her overnight for observation.

Win had asked his other friends if they wanted to go. The only one with time was Sing, so it was just the two of them.

Win bounced a leg as he waited to be called back. He'd never had such a thorough examination before, and wasn't sure if he could go through with it. Girls got mammograms and pap smears annually, which made him very, very glad he was not a girl. How humiliating! Sure, it was good they were getting checked out so they could stay healthy, but to be checked so intimately every year...

Win chewed on his thumbnail, wondering what would happen if it turned out he did have PMDS? His mother had told him many times the doctors assured her he didn't have it. But it could've been overlooked. Doctors hadn't been as careful back then when examining elite babies.

"What kind of exam are you here for? A physical?" Sing asked, flipping through a magazine for something to do

"What kind of exam are you here for? A physical?" Sing asked, flipping through a magazine for something to do.

Win glanced at him. He'd said it was a regular physical, but...it was really a pelvic exam. He didn't want his friends teasing him for being so worried about possibly having PMDS. "Um..."

Sing looked at him, waiting.

"P-pelvic exam..." Win mumbled. He averted his gaze, pretending to be interested in the cars going by outside the clinic. So glad I'm not at the hospital. Everyone would find out before I got back to the university!

"Pelvic exam? Are you okay?" Sing gave him a concerned look.

"I'm just getting checked out," Win assured him. "Better safe than sorry, you know?"

Sing slowly nodded. Then he frowned. "Is this because of Yo's fake curse?"

Win stiffened.

"Winnie," Sing draped a comforting arm over Wins shoulders. "Yo is just a regular person. He has no magical abilities. He can't just wave a hand at you and give you a womb. You have to be born with it."

"I know. This is just for my peace of mind," Win said firmly.

"Khun Uahwatanasakul?" called a middle-aged nurse.

Win swallowed hard and stood up, dragging Sing with him. "That's me."

The nurse gave him a kind smile. "Your friend might want to wait out here, khun."

Sing patted Win's shoulder. "Just yell if you need me, okay? I'll be right over there." He jerked a thumb towards the chairs they had been occupying.
