jeongguk was nervous.

he was continuously rubbing his palms down his tuxedo, fixing his shirt, running his fingers through his hair— he was nervous, what if he looks bad beside kim taehyung.

he cleared his throat and took a deep breath before kicking the air and turned around chanting to himself, "everything will be alright."

he wasn't only tensed about how he will look beside kim taehyung, he was also tensed about what will taehyung say when he will ask him out tonight.

yes, jeon jeongguk finally grew the balls to ask kim taehyung to be his boyfriend. tonight, whatever happens, he will ask him out.

he nodded and rang the doorbell to taehyung's house before wiping his sweating palms on his shirt.

he didn't have to wait long as the door went wide open and to his dismay, it was taehyung's mother who opened it.

"hey mrs. kim." jeongguk greeted peeking inside as he couldn't wait to see the other.

"oh my, look at you. you look so handsome. a total gentleman." she complemented walking a little away from the entrance so that jeongguk can get in.

"uhm mrs. kim. taehyung." jeongguk shyly said with a smile while the woman laughed, "he wore a tuxedo like you but then again changed because he thought, his oxygen tubes looks weird with that."

jeongguk could feel the other's voice getting lower with every moment and couldn't but hang his head low, "mrs. kim, taehyung looks pretty in everything."

"yeah, my boy is actually really pretty." she smiled wiping the small tear that was about to roll down.

jeongguk just stayed quiet until he heard footsteps approaching. he knew it was kim taehyung walking down the stairs.

his jaw dropped as soon as his eyes landed on the pretty boy, now in front of him.

he wore black tee with a pair of tight ripped jeans. his hair was a little messy. the small amount of makeup was spot on. jeongguk didn't know but the oxygen tubes he had on which was connected to the tank stuffed in the backpack on his shoulders made him look so different.

a different type of beautiful.

he would say, kim taehyung left him speechless and breathless.

"hey, ggukkie." taehyung was more nervous than the older and as a result bit his bottom lip which had thin layer of gloss on it.

"you look gorgeous." jeongguk mumbled, his eyes not ready to leave taehyung. he just kept staring at the boy who now walked ahead and intertwined their fingers.

"you don't look that bad, coconut head." taegguk giggled and now stole a glance at his mom, "i will be just back."

"yeah. enjoy baby." his mom smiled before they both exited the house.

"will you stop staring at me like a creep, jeon jeongguk?" the younger stopped in the middle of their yard and cupped jeongguk's wanting to kiss but didn't when he remembered he had gloss on.

"what? kiss me?" jeongguk wrapped his arms around taehyung who just let out small giggle, "idiot, i've gloss on."

"my bad." jeongguk kissed taehyung's cheeks instead and they walked to jeongguk's car. it wasn't actually his, it was his father's.

"i am not a very good driver. don't say i didn't warn ya." jeongguk opened the front passenger seat door for taehyung who smiled.

"you don't need to act like this."

jeongguk got into the car and started it. kim taehyung understood that the other wasn't joking when he said he wasn't a good driver.

the pretty boy almost thought that jeongguk would get both of them in trouble because of his horrible driving.

but somehow they made it to school.

"the fuck! who the hell gave you driving license. i need to have a talk with them." taehyung heavily breathed getting off the car and could hear the other laugh.

"so, let's get in." jeongguk said and again grabbed the other's hand before they started walking ahead.

taehyung felt a lot of emotions at the moment. this is the same place he used to come daily a year ago. he knew the campus so well but now at this moment, everything felt so foreign.

"i am so nervous." taehyung honestly expressed and his hold on jeongguk's hand got tighter.

"baby, just take a deep breath and you know i am with you right?" the raven head placed a subtle kiss on taehyung's nose as they made their way in.

the lightings were perfect, taehyung loved the place, his nervousness fading a little as he looked around the beautifully arranged hall.

but what made his heart break was his old friends standing in a circle at a distance. they were talking to each other, some were laughing at something which was probably hilarious.

taehyung wanted to be with them too.

"gguk, should i go meet them? will it be awkward?" taehyung asked for suggestion and as expected jeongguk said that he really should join them.

jeongguk let go of taehyung's hand and softly pushed him ahead, "go catch up with them. i will be at the snacks corner."

jeongguk stared at the other as he walked ahead. he smiled to himself and let the other be on his own before making his way to the snacks corner.

"hey guys." taehyung touched park jimin's slash his best friend's shoulder who turned around and was surprised to see him.

"oh my, taehyungie, you here." jimin hugged the other and smiled.

taehyung stood there with his old friends but nothing seems to be the same like it used to be.

they were surely smiling at him, but they started talking about something that taehyung was totally unaware of.

the pretty boy though had a smile on his face but he didn't feel like they were his friends anymore. maybe the distance he had or you can say the distance they made from him was a long one to overcome.

he felt tears rushing down but he didn't cry. he stood there with his friend circle who still were busy with their own conversation.

he never felt so bad in his life.

he felt like an outcast.
