previously on fanboy...

jungkook finds out from namjoon that leeseok was stabbed to death in an alley. jungkook remembered seeing leeseok with seokjin a couple nights prior and starts suspecting the elder even more. he runs off in searches for hoseok and finds his best friend in his house along with... mingi.

hoseok and jungkook investigate the crime scene and find a black pen which hoseok takes in order to check it back at the police station.
jungkook lets the rain soak him as he sits on the curb. out of nowhere, taehyung comes with an umbrella and the two end up having sweet conversations and spending a lot of time together.

hoseok returned back home after leaving the pen for observation. as soon as he entered his house, he saw mingi who looked like he was about to leave.

"I was wondering if you'll be able to drive me to work?" mingi asked as he buttoned up the last button on this dress shirt... well, it was hoseok's dress shirt, but he had to borrow it for today and hoseok didn't seem to mind.

"can't walk properly after last night?" hoseok smirked and passed by the blushing mingi and entered his room. "I'll drive you."

hoseok grabbed his phone that was charging from his night stand and caught a glimpse of something leather on the floor. he picked it up and realized it was a wallet, mingi's wallet.
to make sure, he opened it up and smiled after seeing mingi's ID card behind a transparent little pocket. hoseok thought he looked adorable with that blonde hair and a grey sweatshirt. hoseok took his phone wanting to snap a pic of mingi, but since the transparent pocket was a little dirty it ruined the quality of the photo, so hoseok decided to take it out and take a proper picture. he slid out mingi's ID and saw something fall out of that same little pocket. hoseok picked it up from the floor and stared at the object in his hand with confusion.

he placed down his phone and the wallet and looked at the two IDs in his hands.
yoon mingi... and min yoongi?
what?

the first thought that crossed hoseok's mind was that yoongi was mingi's twin brother, but then... wouldn't they have the same last name?
the boy under the name 'min yoongi' had black hair on the photo and was wearing a black tshirt. he looked very different from mingi... if that made sense. yoongi had dark eye circles, bruises all over his face, and mingi looked like a freshly polished shoe.

still confused, hoseok took a picture of the two IDs side by side and quickly placed them back in the wallet before mingi... or yoongi would be back.

"you almost forgot your wallet." hoseok said with a bright smile as if nothing had just happened. "it was under the night table."

"oh, thank you so much, hoseokie." mingi replied and kissed hoseok on the cheek.

"no problem, mingi." hoseok smiled and led mingi out by his hand. "let's get going."

after dropping mingi off at the cafe hoseok drove to the police station. he got here almost an hour ago but all he did was stare at the two IDs. hoseok's mind was just like a blank piece of paper. he didn't understand this at all.
he decided to check mingi's and yoongi's fingerprints on his computer just to be sure. and yes, they were the same person.

but what made yoongi change his name and his appearance...? it must have been something big, people don't change themselves like that for no reason. looking at yoongi's old ID hoseok understood that something had definitely happened back then, at the photo yoongi looked like... a criminal or a homeless person. it was weird.
