"I can drive you there if you want?" hoseok said while biting his lip nervously.

jungkook finished his cup of coffee and placed it in the sink.
"just drive me to the bus station, I'll get there myself, you have work to do."

"are you sure?"

"definitely."

"take this." hoseok handed jungkook a black umbrella. "it's going to rain today, they've said it on the news."

jungkook grabbed the umbrella and gave out a sad smile.

the car ride to the bus station was quick and silent. as much as hoseok wanted to make jungkook smile, he knew it would be no use in trying. he also knew that for the next three days he shouldn't speak much to the younger, jungkook liked spending this time alone, absorbed in his own thoughts and worries.

"thanks." jungkook walked out of the car and waited for his bus.
looking up at the sky, jungkook furrowed his eyebrows at the grey clouds that seemed to have taken over the clear blue and hid the sun.

after a long ride in a muggy bus, jungkook arrived at his wanted destination. the empty bus station in the middle of nowhere frightened the locals and terrified the tourist who were told that this station was exactly like the kisaragi station in tokyo.
jungkook never knew who even made those rumors up, all this station had was a cemetery a couple meters away.
on his way, jungkook picked all kinds of beautiful flowers from the field and ended up with a pretty bouquet in his hands.

"hi mom, hi dad." jungkook smiled and placed the bouquet of flowers on top of the grave. "I miss you two."
he whispered as his vision got blurry from tears.

today was exactly 16 years since their death.

jungkook was a kid with quite the attitude. stubborn as hell, he did outrageous things for his age. he was never shy nor modest, so after he decided to kiss the new boy – hoseok, he casually told about the entire situation to his parents without a second thought. jungkook was truly lucky, his parents were cool, the entire school knew that, and he appreciated them, he truly appreciated everything they had done for him, he just didn't know how to express his gratitude.
'friends come and go, but family stays forever'. jungkook couldn't believe that after he wrote a whole paper on that topic for writing class, he would come back home only to be informed about his parent's death. losing parents at a young age usually doesn't cause much damage since the child does not fully understand anything, but jungkook was 12 and he understood it all. their next door neighbors were happy to adopt jungkook since the boy had no other relatives. ever since then jungkook lost the meaning of life. it was never the same, he hated coming back home, he hated seeing those two strangers who acted like he was their child. he hated that they made him go to church after seeing him hold hands with a boy, he hated everything.
