Mia's pov

Tonight was the pool party. The sun had set already.

I had on my floral bikini and threw an over sized hoodie over with shorts under.

I tied my hair into a messy bun and slipped on my shoes.

"Where do you think you going out looking like that?" Maria stands in the doorway of my bedroom.

I roll my eyes at her, "Pool party. Like you care anyway."

"Does your dad know you're fooling around with this boy every weekend?"

"He has a name and I'm not fooling around. I'm not a slut like-" I cut myself off before I added fuel to the fire.

Why do I even bother myself anyways?

"Finish that sentence and you'll get it." She hisses at me.

Before I could say anything to her there is a knock at the door. It must be Boggi.

Great, now I'm in a bad mood.

Without saying anything to Maria I walk past her to the front door. I open it revealing Boggi in a button down shirt and shorts.

"Hey." He says with a smile.

"H-"

"So this is the boy you're messing around with? He can do so much better." Maria snarls behind me with a red wine bottle in her hands.

"Why don't you just shut up for once and worry about yourself. God, you're such a drunk." I tell her.

"How dare you talk-"

"Hey hey hey. You don't have to talk to her like that. She did nothing to you." Boggi gets in between me and Maria.

She squints her eyes at Boggi.

"How dare you come into MY house and tell me how I should and should not talk to MY daughter."

"I'm not your fucking daughter." I spit.

"At least I'm still here unlike your ungrateful mother was." She spits back.

Boggi turns to look at me.

I keep my head low as I start to feel fresh tears sting my eyes.

"Boggi, let's just go." I croak.

We start walking to the car.

"Are you okay?" Boggi asks me.

"I'm fine. Let's just forget about it."

We drove in silence as soft instrumental music played.

I kept my eyes on the pretty sky. Millions of stars twinkled down on us. I felt at ease.

"Hey. You okay?" Boggi breaks my daze.

I look at him. He places a hand on my knee and squeezes it softly.

I give him a reassuring smile, "I'm all better now."

He gives me a soft smile in return then focuses back onto the road before him.

Inside I was breaking down for the millionth time. But he didn't need to know that.

When we got to the twins' house I could already here the music blaring from inside and people's voices.

Meeting new people was not my strongest trait.

"It'll be fun, promise." Boggi assures me.

He probably could see it on my face that I was a bit uneasy.

I took in a breath and followed him to the front door where we walked in. The house were filled with unfamiliar faces as we walked through the crowd.

Everyone we passed greated Boggi as I just followed after.

"Holaaaa!" Someone grabs me from behind.

"I knew you'd come!" Ivan holds onto me.

"Ivan! Wow this is some party." I tell him as I scan the room of people.

"We throw the best parties, what can I say." Emilio joins us.

"What do you say we all go swimming!" Ivan yells at the crowd and everyone cheers.

I laugh at all the excitement in the room.

Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as I thought it would be.

"Come on, let's get you a drink." Ivan wraps his arm around my shoulders.

"Oh, I don't really drink."

"So do I." Ivan brings me outside to the backyard where more people were scattered around. Some already in the pool.

Ivan brings me over to a bar like area. He grabs two colourful shots and hands me one.

"What is it?" I ask.

He shrugs and downs it in one go.

"I thought you said you don't drink." I yell over the loud music.

"I don't." He chuckles before slipping his tank top off of him, throwing it somewhere and sprints off to do a cannonball into the pool.

I shake my head at Ivan's craziness. I look down at the shot in my hand.

I was alone. I could easily put it down and not drink it but then again one wouldn't do any harm right.

I quickly down the shot and the strong liquid burns my throat making me caugh.

Damn! How can people enjoy this?

"You okay?" I hear Boggi laugh behind me.

"Yeah. How can you drink that?" I say in disgust.

"I don't. Here." He tosses a bottle of water at me which I quickly undo the top and drink of it.

The water soothes my throat.

"Thank you." I tell him.

"No problem. I take it you haven't drank before."

"I will have a cider now again. But no, I'm not quite the drinker." I answer as I drink my water halfway.

"I like my water." He peck kisses the bottle.

"Are you getting in the pool?" He asks me motioning at the pool where people are splashing around in.

"I don't know..."

"How can you not know? Come on, it'll be fun. Don't let me throw you in."

"Okay okay fine." I pull my hoodie off of me and step out of my shoes and shorts, "Happy?"

Boggi's eyes travel up and down on me.

"More than happy but promise you won't be mad at me?"

I squint my eyes at him, "For what?"

"For this!" He sweeps me up from the ground and throws me over his shoulder.

As much as I argued and as much as I beat my fists against his bare back he wouldn't let me down.

I then felt myself being flinged into the air and I let out a scream before I'm hit by the cold water.

I quickly come up and I notice Boggi holding his stomach in fits of laughter.

"Y-You are s-so so dead." I stutter as the coldness travels through my body.

He continues to laugh at me.
