Mia's pov
"I can't stand living with you anymore!"
"Well good! Then leave!" Maria yells at me.
I stomp up the staircase to my bedroom.
Tears were streaming down my face and they were burning my eyes.
I slammed the door shut behind me and locked it.
I couldn't stand to live with someone who breaks me down all the time.
I walked over to my closet and grabbed a duffle bag out and started to pack in necessary items and clothing.
I put my phone up to my ear and on the third ring they answer.
"Hola, chica!"
"Hey...can you uh, can you pick me up?" I ask, my voice cracking.
"Are you okay? You don't sound too good?"
"Yeah yeah, I uh, I just need to get out of here. Can you get me?"
"Yeah yeah, sure. I'll be there right now."
"Thanks." I hang up.
I opened up my bedroom window and threw the bag out first and climbing out afterwards.
I jumped down the roof and landed on the soft lawn and sat on the porch and waited.
A familiar car pulls up on the side of the road and I quickly rush to get into the passenger side.
"Thank you for getting me."
"Anything for a friend. Are you sure you okay?" Ivan asks me.
"I don't know. Can we just get away from here, I don't want to be here right now."
Ivan starts up the engine and pulls away.
I let out a deep sigh of relief.
"What happened back there?" Ivan asks me after a short silence.
I swallow hard.
"My dad, he remarried after getting a job offer here in Spain. The woman he married doesn't like me very much..." I trail off.
"Evil step-mother kind of vibes?"
I chuckle at Ivan, "Yes, evil step-mother kind of vibes."
We pull up at Ivan's house.
"Ivan. I don't want to be rude and just invite myself in..."
"Hey. Stay as long as you want."
"Thank you." I pull him in for a hug.
I grab my bag and we enter into the house.
We find Boggi and Emilio in the lounge. When Boggi sees me he hops off of the sofa and approaches me.
"Mia. What are you doing here?" He notices my duffle bag in hand.
"Uh-"
"Your face. It's red...Are you okay?" He looks confused between me and Ivan.
I see Emilio watching us intently.
"Can we talk upstairs about this?" I ask him quietly so only he would be able to hear.
I follow Boggi up to his bedroom. He closes the door behind us.
"What's in the bag?" He asks.
I put my bag down on the floor.
"Ivan said I could stay as long as I want."
He furrows his eyebrows, "Did Maria do this to you?" He examines my cheeks.
"Boggi, I'm fine okay. I just, I can't stay in that house anymore. I needed to get out."
"But your dad-"
"I'm sure he'll understand."
Boggi rests his hands on my hips.
"I'm glad you're here."
I give him a soft smile, "Me too." I rest my head against his chest and close my eyes as I feel his strong arms wrap around me.
That night I got to meet Ivan and Emilio's mom and their stepdad who were very nice to me. They gladly let me stay too which I was really grateful for.
Their older sister, Rebecca, had already become my best friend. She's just the sweetest. She even offered me to stay in her bedroom with her.
At dinner we all talked amongst each other.
They were the sweetest people I have ever met and for the first time in a long time I felt like I belonged.
After dinner we all decided to go to bed. We all then said our goodnights.
I held Boggi's hand as we walked down the hall to Rebecca's slash my room.
We stop in front of her closed door.
"It feels so good to have you here...even though you just a few doors down from me." Boggi smirks down at me.
I roll my eyes at him, "I'm not sneaking out in the middle of the night to see you Boggi."
"Aw damn it. At least I tried hey." He shrugs.
I smile up at him and he leans down to place a kiss on my lips.
"You love birds done making out in front of my room?" Rebecca pokes her head out of her room.
"We weren't making out." Boggi says.
"I'll see you in the morning." I tell Boggi.
He pecks my cheek before turning to leave.
I walk into Rebecca's room and close the door behind me.
Rebecca plops down on her bed.
"You guys are literally the cutest." She compliments.
"Yeah, he's real good to me." I bite down on my lip as I think about Boggi.
