Mia's pov
Boggi came home yesterday. Ivan had invited me to family lunch which I had declined but he saw me as 'family' and begged me to join so I said yes.
It was a beautiful sunny Saturday and Ivan had said I should pack in my swimming suit.
I smiled down as I clipped on the silver bracelet Ivan had gotten me.
I zipped my bag closed and put my hair into a messy braid.
"Knock knock."
My dad stands in the doorway of my bedroom.
"Hey, dad."
"Do you want me to give you a ride?" He asks me.
I shrug, "Sure. If you don't mind."
"I don't. I haven't been out in a while too. Except for work at least."
I pack my bag in the cars trunk and climb into the passengers seat.
Dad starts up the engine and we on the road to the Martinez house.
"So, I wanted to talk to you about something actually." Dad breaks the silence.
"What do you want to talk about?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to stay at the Martinez house tonight. I am sort of busy tonight..." Dad trails on.
I frown at him in confusion.
"Busy with what? Late night shift?"
"Close...I sort of have a date tonight."
My eyes buldge out of the sockets, "No way. That's great dad. Who's this mystery woman?"
"She's a collegue of mine, her name's Isabella."
"Your secretary Isabella? Dad she's gorgeous! Almost half your age but yeah, get it." I say happily.
"I'm glad you're happy." Dad says somewhat relieved.
"No, dad, I'm happy for you."
Ivan's pov
I was helping Emilio to choose a song playlist when I heard a car pull up.
I knew it was Mia so I ran over to the door and opened it.
She looks surprised when I open the door so suddenly.
"I heard you pull up...uh-"
Stop blabbering you idiot, I thought to myself.
My eyes then land on the bracelet I had gotten her and a soft smile rises onto my face.
"Are you going to let me in or...?" She raises her one eyebrow up at me.
I then break out of my daze.
"Oh yeah, sure!" I give way for her to enter the house which she then does.
Boggi then walks into the house and makes eye contact with Mia.
"Mia." He says with a smile on his face as he approaches her.
"Boggi." She studies him, "You looking...good."
He did look good. His cuts were busy clearing up and the swelling were busy going down.
"I feel good too. Still feel bad about crashing Ivan's car though." He looks embarrassingly at me.
I wave it off, "It's just a car bro, I'm just glad you're okay." I wrap my arm around his shoulders.
"That's why everyone loves Ivan." Boggi jokingly says but I (for some reason) took it serious, just for a second until Mia nudges me in my side with her elbow.
"Yeah, he really is loveable ain't he." She winks up at me with a cute smile.
My stomach flutters and I find it hard to let out a word.
"Come on, everyone's out back." Boggi then tells Mia and drags her to the backyard.
My smile then fades when they leave me standing in the lounge alone.
Mia's pov
Having lunch with the Martinez family was nice. All the awkwardness slipped quickly away and we all had a good time talking and laughing.
The sun began setting and we decided to get into the pool since it was still warm outside.
After swimming around for a little and splashing at each other, Boggi and I were sitting on the edge of the pool with our feet in it while we watched the rest swim.
"It's so good to see you after all this time." Boggi tells me.
I'm taken by surprised.
"Yeah, it's really good to see you too, Bog." I splash him with the pool water making him chuckle with that cute laugh of his.
"You know I never meant to you know...lay a hand on you-"
"Boggi, you don't have to say sorry, I know you didn't mean to do it."
I look at him and he looks ashamed and upset with himself.
I put my hand on his upper arm, squeezing it reassuringly.
"Hey, stop beating yourself up about it. It's okay. I'm fine, can't you see how perfectly happy I am right now?" I give him a bright smile causing him to smile slightly at me.
His mouth parts as if he's about to say something but Ivan cuts him off when he swims towards us.
"Are you guys getting in or what?" Ivan splashes us.
"Ivan! I was trying to get dry." I splash him back.
Boggi just chuckles.
Ivan shrugs, "Lame." He comments.
"You calling me lame? I'm the one accompanying your pained crippled friend over here." I jokingly say while pointing at Boggi.
"Hey! I'm not in pain, nor am I cripple." Boggi argues.
I shrug, "I know that."
Boggi rolls his eyes at me.
"Well, crippled or not, you're both lame." Ivan comments while splashing us once again.
"You are SO dead!" I yell at him.
"Ahh, I'm scared." Ivan mimics.
"Funny." I say sarcastically.
"I think I had enough sun for today," Boggi climbs out of the pool, "I'm getting me something to drink, do you want any?" He offers me.
"Sure." I shrug and he helps me up, "Do you want anything Ivan?"
Something flashed in Ivan's eyes, but I couldn't tell what he was thinking about exactly so I just pushed it to the back of my mind.
"Nah, I'm fine thanks." He gives me a lopsided smile.
"Okay..." I trail off and I follow Boggi into the house.
Ivan acted really weird today. I really wanted to know what was bothering him. I made sure to ask him when we are alone next time.
