Mia's pov
"You know you didn't have to pay for me. These are all so expensive." I look down at all the shopping bags I'm carrying in my hands.
"All I wanted to do is put a smile on your face. If you had fun thus far, I know I have accomplished at least one goal today." Ivan shoves me lightly.
I roll my eyes playfully, "Fine, I had fun...thank you." I smile up at him.
He smiles back down at me.
We then decided to drop our bags into the car before catching a movie at the cinemas.
We were currently standing in the ticket line.
"How about a horror?" Ivan suggests.
"No ways, you like horrors too?" I say with big eyes.
"Hell yeah! Any jump scare, adrenaline rush, gorey fun...count me in!"
I laugh at Ivan.
I then see him taking out his credit card.
"At least let me pay this time." I tell him as I pull out crumpled paper money from my back pocket.
He groans, "Okay, I'll handle the tickets you can get us popcorn and drinks."
"Fine."
We then bought our tickets for the movie and I bought us popcorn, sweets and drinks.
We were currently half way through the movie and we would constantly get shushed from angry people in the front rows.
Ivan made funny impressions of the characters in the movie and I would burst out laughing.
Towards the end of the movie I started to get tired and I rested my head on his shoulder and he rested his head on to mine.
I felt my eyes getting heavy till I closed them and I fell into a deep sleep.
Ivan's pov
I feel Mia's head resting gently onto my shoulder and I feel my body tense up just a bit.
Her breathing was shallow which meant she probably fell asleep.
Her hair smelt sweet like flowers and I felt my stomach burst with butterflies.
What is this that I'm feeling?
Mia's my friend, nothing else.
I see her hand resting on the seat divider between us and I slowly place mine into hers, lacing our fingers.
A few moments later the movie ends and I poke Mia's cheek with my finger.
"Mia, you have to wake up. The movie's ended."
She groans and her eyes flutter open.
She looks down at our intertwined hands and frowns.
"Ivan, what are you doing?"
I quickly untangle our fingers and stand up from my seat.
"Nothing, we should probably get going. It's getting late."
She slowly gets up and stretches, "Yeah, my dad's probably worried."
