It didn't take long until the Amy and Maria became close friends. Both do have some things in common. It was surprising for Amy. Today was the day she'll ask Maria about her true feelings for Shadow. Amy invited Maria over to her house: they started with drinking tea, watching a romance movie then began to talk. "Hey Maria, I need to ask you something important." Maria pauses for a second. Slightly surprised by the sudden seriousness in Amy's voice. She places her tea cup down onto the table. "O-ok then. Is it about school?" Amy shakes her head. "No. It's about Shadow. I want to know how you feel about him." "Well, I love him like a brother. We've known each other since we were 5. Wait, why are you asking this?" Amy sighs, a small amount of guilt in her voice. "I-I thought... you loved him. Not like a brother, but like a boyfriend." Maria gasps and frantically shakes her head. "No, no oh my Mobius no! I don't like Shadow like that! He's nothing more than a childhood friend. Also, I'm 25 years old. Shadow may be 18 but he's still a teenager."
"I'm sorry for asking that. It's just... I was worried that I was loosing him." Maria places her hand on top of Amy's. Making the hedgehog look back up at the blonde. Who was offering a comforting smile. "Don't worry about that Amy. He loves more than anything in the world. Trust me; he's talked about you almost every time we're on the phone." That fact made Amy beam with delight. Her heart beating faster. The thought of Shadow talking about her, as if she was some kind of goddess. It melts her heart. The two continue their hangout for the last 2 hours before Maria had to leave. It was finally over: no more rivals, no more murders, just her and Shadow. Together forever.
