As Dev was rushing off the boat to find help, Jackson ran into him as he finished looking around the outskirts of the boat. "Hey!" He hollered after them as he caught up to them. "You're Dev right? Why do you have a baby with you? Where's Sam?"

"On the boat. With Shiloh. She convinced him to let us go." Dev told him as he cradled Wiley on his shoulder.

"Shiloh? The cult guy?" Jackson asked him trying to figure out what was going on.

"He has a gun and he's making Sam take him to Canada." Dev informed the man.

"Here's what you're going to do." Jackson told him carefully. "Go to the hospital and get help. Tell them everything that you can remember. Take my phone and call the police on the way." He told the teenager, handing him his cellphone. "I'm going to go get Sam." Around the corner was Shiloh's funds he was waiting on. Peter had a duffel bag ready to deliver to Shiloh but he stopped in his tracks as he heard their conversation. Before Peter could leave, Dev rounded the corner and asked him for help. Peter agreed, figuring Shiloh was in too deep to help get out at this point.

Inside the Haunted Star, Sam and Shiloh were in a feud. Sam attempted to get free, throwing a drink in his face and kicking the gun from his hands. He over powered her and took the bottle she was about to hit him with, slamming it on the ground. He tossed her on top of the shattered glass, causing her to cut her arm. "Not this time, Sam." He approached her, turning her on her back as he centered himself between her legs. "This time I win." He uttered as he began to undo his belt buckle.

"No. Shiloh, please don't." Sam cried for help. Just as he began to kneel down, a gunshot went off. Sam screamed, seeing the man fall beside her. She turned to see who fired the shot. Jackson stood in the entrance with his arm still extended after firing the shot.

"Sam." Her best friend approached her, helping her up." Are you okay?" He asked her as she hugged him, feeling relieved that she was saved from Shiloh yet again. "Your arm. That's a deep cut." He inspected her injury making sure nothing was broken.

"I'm okay." Sam told him, noting she had no broken bones. "Dev was unconscious when I got here and Shiloh, he had Wiley." Sam shook her head. "I don't think I've ever worked so hard to convince somebody of anything."

"You did it. You saved them." Jackson told her with a relieved smile. "I ran into Dev trying to find you. When he told me Shiloh had you hostage in here. I grabbed my gun from the car."

"Thank you." Sam thanked him for saving her. "Let's get out of here." She told him as they made their way to turn the ship around back to the pier.

"You sure you can take us to the pier?" Jackson asked her, making sure she was okay.

"Yeah, I can do this in my sleep." Sam told her friend with a shrug, despite just being manhandled by a cult leader.

"I know. I just wanted to make sure you're okay. You're a little injured." He told her referring to her arm.

"Which is why I'll need you to tie the boat mooring. Which makes me the captain and you the deckhand." Sam told her friend with a smirk. As much as this was not a situation she wanted to be in, it felt like old times with Jackson. Only this time they were the ones stopping a conman and not being the conman.

"Ay, ay, captain." Jackson nodded with a chuckle.

"Jackson." Sam stopped and turned to him before going to steer the boat. "Thanks for the save." She thanked him again as she caught his gaze.

"Anytime." Jackson told her with a nod. After Sam got up to the quarterdeck, Jackson let out a deep breathe as he stared out at the water. His instincts told him to move as Shiloh reappeared with a pickax in hand. Shiloh took a swing at Jackson, missing his target. Jackson was able to hold Shiloh off for a minute before being tripped. Jackson tried to back up as Shiloh cornered him, bringing the ax above his head he prepared to swing on target this time. Just as he's about to do so, Sam shoots a flare into his back. Shiloh screams in pain, dropping the ax as he stumbles overboard into the water. Jackson gets up carefully, checking over the railing to see the water he fell into.

"Here, I'll take it." Jackson approached her and referred to the flare gun.

"No." Sam shook her head, setting the orange flare gun down. "I don't want your fingerprints getting on it." She told him as she walked over the the railing, looking at the water.

"He's gone." Jackson told her, putting his hand on her shoulder. "You shot him in the back with a flare gun and he fell in the water. There's no way he's surviving this."

Back at the pier, Valerie Spencer was on the case alongside her partner, Detective Chase. "A speedboat is missing which checks out Dev's story that Jackson Thomas is pursuing the ship." The detective informed the mayor who just showed up at the scene.

"He's trying to save Sam. Shiloh has her hostage." Laura informed the police.

"Shiloh had a bullet proof vest." Jackson told Sam as he returned from checking inside the ship. "I should've checked his pulse after I shot him." He shook his head, frustrated that he let that slip which could've cost them both their lives.

"We were a little distracted." Sam told him, telling him not to blame himself.

"I should've made sure, I'm sorry." Jackson apologized.

"It's fine, Jackson. Either way, it's obvious this was self defense." Sam told, "I guess you can say this is our first case together that we're both 100 percent innocent in." She joked, earning a light laugh from him.

"Thank you for the save." Jackson responded.

"Anytime." Sam responded back before hugging her friend. Although she was still upset with how he handled things with Kristina, she was grateful he was there tonight. Without him, the outcome could have been very different.
